I had a mental health crisis in December and put a request in to speak to a doctor as I was worried because I couldn’t stop crying, instead of Dr Walker calling me I was sent a text asking me to contact the mental health line, as a result I was angry and upset, sending a text was not helpful as I needed to talk to the doctor about the antidepressants I was prescribed. The reception staff were also not well trained and didn’t know how to deal with someone who was potentially going to commit suicide, because I was rude I was then removed from the practice. Overall a really poor service, good riddance to a badly run private business.
I was so utterly disappointed and disgusted with the help I received at Penryn Surgery yesterday. My phone wasn't working that well, so I called up to book an appointment instead, and the staff were abrupt, impatient, and rude. I get they receive lots of calls, but the two or three people I spoke to didn't want to help or listen to me. I understand the doctors have practices and rules to follow on medication, but I was unable to get an appointment at the pharmacy or doctors surgery, so now have to try and get rid of a very painful illness myself. I tried to explain to the people over the phone I knew what the problem was, and if they had any medication at all they could give me for it, but they refused to even hear my case or recommend any medication. I will be very keen to look to register at a different practice after this experience, it has made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable going to the doctors at all now.
Doctor diagnosed me with severe lung disease and asthma a couple of days ago. Prescribed medication to help me to breathe easier. 5 minutes later the on site pharmacy refused to give me the medication because I could not afford to pay for the prescription charge because I am homeless and in receipt of no benefits. I walked out feeling very upset and absolutely disgusted knowing the pharmacy at Penryn Surgery put profit before patient care.
I have never felt so unseen or upset by a doctors. I have tried to make an appointment for months and have been in so much pain. I have filled out all the clinic forms just to never recieve an appointment. I told them my phone is currently broken and they dont even read my form and still try to call me and cancel my form. Honestly feel broken and gutted.
I have had weakness together with neurological and widespread pain for over 2 years now. I have been to the surgery 3 or more times asking for pain relief. They won't do anything but fobb me off with antidepressants. I have now had confirmation that the spinal tumour i have is pressing on my spinal cord and causing all the symptoms. Asked again for some help today but again was saying about antidepressants??? I need help with sleep and pain management. I will probably need major spinal surgery as and when my symptoms progess. I need someone to help me and support me through this time. They never look at your notes, only a quick glance when you are sat in the chair in front if them. I am going to move surgery now and make a formal complaint as other incidences have occurred over the last 2 years.nDisgraceful!
