I've been keeping exotic animals such as reptiles, invertebrates and amphibians for over 15 years now and I have never seen a shop quite like this one, incredibly busy the whole time we were there which does make it a little difficult to move about, still to me is a good sign that this is a good shop to visit.nnThey have a massive range of animals, all kept very well and have clearly had the right care and attention with their setups and needs, I kept going deeper into the shop and it just kept going, loads of different sections and a bunch of equipment and enclosures so there is pretty much anything you need regardless of what animal you are buying.nnPricing was very good too, so many reptile shops have gone the way of only selling expensive gecko, python or bearded dragon morphs so anyone not willing to spend £500+ just for the animal is out of luck, where as Penfolds has a mix so you can get the rarer stuff should you want to but you can also just grab a regular beardie or something.nnThey also have one of the best ranges of Tarantulas I've seen in person, very often see places with a handful such as a couple red knees, an OBT and maybe some jumping spiders but Penfold had so so many, even P metallicas, absolutely amazing little shop, would definitely go there again!nnMy only small issue is parking is rather difficult but that's nothing Penfold can really change themselves
Visited this shop for the first time today after looking at the good reviews and can I just say, it is the best pet shop I've ever been to. The care for their animals is unmatched, not to mention just how many animals there are - it's like walking through a zoo! I could've been in there all day I was just having so much fun looking at all the beasties. They had so much stock, too, just everything you'd need for your pet, including amazing live plants! I am 100% going to be going back there for all my reptile/amphibian needs, especially since I went home with 2 of the cutest little milk frogs.
Lots bigger then it looks on the outside an staff are very nice an helpful. An we got are baby tortoise an now is 4 years old now an has been the best pet/addition to are family home. An recently needed some live flies for my mantis an thay have lots an different ones an much more foods for everything. An price is by far the most reasonable. You won't find a better place to go for all your need. Wever your an expert or just looking to start out. This place is a must go an see.
Brilliant shop that seems to get bigger the more you look.nLots of well looked after animals and plenty of accessories for almost any reptile you can think of. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff, I will be back there soon.
This is easily the BEST shop in Kent they have EVERYTHING you require for any reptile we travel from Margate to hernebay and WE ARE IN LOVE with this shop they have an amazing collection of reptiles and they know there stuff, they was very polite and was happy to answer any questions we had about the different reptiles, we had 2 corn snakes already that are rescues and they was able to help an advise on the correct size mice for them, whilst there we also purchased a ball python who’s now named Ronnie and we absolutely LOVE him, they gave us advise on correct temps for his viv and was happy to answer any questions and also gave us the correct size mice for him, they told us what day he’s normally fed so we were able to stick to his normal feeding schedule and they was also able to tell us he’s about a year and a half old and they have obviously done a amazing job raising him as he’s and absolute diamond, very placid and friendly I also called the day after to check I had all the correct temperatures for him and they was more than happy to help, really amazing and helpful staff that know there reptiles and we will be purchasing so many more reptiles from here to add to our collection. Thank you for best experience!!
