Never donating there again. I had donated here for quite a while. After a clear-out, I had four or five boxes of stuff. As usual, took the first box in, and someone else with a second. An overbearing woman stalked up and rudely told us they didn't want any donations. I pointed out that I'd called two days before to check, and she said "It's different know". She "allowed " us rudely to leave the unexamined boxes and told us to take the rest away. A really unpleasant experience; I believe she was the manager. This was a while ago, but there are plenty of other places to donate. Not crossing their doorstep again.
I was very impressed with the staff who were friendly and helpful. As an ex volunteer in that shop I also noticed an improvement in the displays. The quality of the goods has always been impressive and that is continuing.
Rude staff whisper about you behind your back then proceed to chat to each other whilst serving and ignoring you treating you like a piece of poo on your shoe. Do they realise it's a charity shop and this money goes to help people....management needs to look at who works there voluntary or not you should be nice to your customers Felt Very unwelcome and not the first time. This is the last time I will go here Please avoid this awful shop thankyou
Absolutely horrifying experience! Went in the other day to see if I could kindly donate a microwave before throwing it out at the dump. Before I even made it through the door, a tallish lady with short hair looked down her nose at me all snooty and said "eer what is that? A microwave? No thank you" before I could even say hello. Fair enough, if you have a policy against taking electrical items, however there is NEVER an excuse to speak to someone like that. Absolutely vile woman who seemed more interested in the presentation of the shop than supporting the cause and actaully helping people. Avoid at all costs, this shop doesnt deserve your kind charity!
I think it's a shame that the shop has to look and feel like a boutique with boutique prices. This shop use to be the best in Herne Bay
Lovely clean charity shop to browse around. Usually pop in when in the area. Often pick up a bargain.
Warm friendly staff good bargains worth a look
Always manage to find something in the Pilgrims Shop sooo friendly and helpful especially Adele
Very friendly staff, lovely choice of item's, all precautions in place.
