Quaint hotel everything still set in the 50s. Wonderful food. Roaring fires. Great location.

Cozy pub with a lot of mountaineering history.
Good beer from a local brewery, a warm fire, and decent food.
Very welcoming to walkers, and a good place to recover after a day on the fells.

If you wanted to stop for food make sure you phone in advanced to see if they are open. There are no opening hours for the pub on their website. I do remember that they close at 15:00 on Sundays.

Iconic place to visit - great atmosphere but could do better food and a kettle in a room would be good.
Special place.
