Lovely little station and cafe. Ride into Matlock on a steam train really is great. Ideal for children. Staff are very friendly and helpfull

A wonderfully genteel heritage railway. You can go up and down all day. Park at Rowsley - it's free! Get off at Darley Dale to explore the little museum and pop nextdoor into Whitworth Park - great for a picnic. There's food and drink available in the Whitworth centre.

Nice trip on the peak rail, went from Rowsley to Matlock and had lunch then back again, my son loves trains and enjoyed the day out.
