Paulas Traditional Fish And Chips

First time ordering from here since they rebranded to McCanns from Silverfinns and its clear they still offer the best fish and chip in town, having long surpasses Pat Prices who's own serving just isn't what it used to be. A decent fish and chips is hard to come by in Newry these days, so it's great to have a local chipper you can rely on for a good bit of cod. The fish is super fresh and the batter is thin and bubbly, and the chips are home made. What more do you want. Definitely recommend.

Thought I would try here after everyone in work telling me how good it was. Ordered a chip and a chicken burger with bacon and cheese, chips were good but the chicken burger was laughable. Wee small, thin piece of chicken in a big bap. Drove the 2 minute drive home to where I live on the warrenpoint road and the burger was already cold. When you advertise something on your menu as a chicken "filet" burger it should at least be a filet of chicken and not what I was served. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, so many better chicken burgers in Newry.

I recently used their online ordering system but meant to place the order for Newcastle branch and ordered and paid online by mistake from Newry. The Newry store couldn't have been more helpful and phoned my order through and transferred to Newcastle. Great customer service. Thank you very much.

Fish and chips were only delicious Sorry to say that there are no hot drinks Otherwise very Clean and tidy Staff quick and helpful

Got there food for the 1st time delicious and arrived hot value for money a lot cheaper than some places I use to order from..

Really poor, soggy fish, poor quality chips, had eaten here a year earlier and it was lovely, but they were very busy and food was really disappointing .

Had chicken goujons and chips, chips were really good. Enjoyed it.

Been to McCann's fish@ chip shop in newry today ,the best fish@chip in Co Down it was delicious ,,will be back, staff was so friendly and so helpful thanks all
