Lovely independent restaurant off the high street. I went for lunch with my new baby and was welcomed so warmly, and the staff even turned the music down without me asking. Bruschetta starter was delicious. Home made ravioli was a bit thick and maybe a few minutes over cooked but so fresh and tasty I can't really complain! Staff amazing. Definately recommended.
I am quite disappointed with the food from Pasta Madre. I went for dinner and ordered the Risotto of the day- there were three different options and so I chose the mushroom risotto. When we got our orders, I was quite taken aback as the portion was the smallest portion of risotto I have seen- I tried it and it was also quite cold. When I had finished, which only took a couple of minutes to finish, I called the waiter and asked for the menu and told him that I was disappointed and still starving because of the small portion, thinking he would offer me more. But sadly I did not get anything. In return, the chef came over and asked what was wrong and so I said how small the portion was, and she gave poor excuses saying that many people have complained, saying the portions are too big. Isn't it better to have more food than not enough? to make it worse, we were over charged when we got the bill.
We had an amazing three course meal for two at Pasta Madre. The service was excellent, atmosphere was cosy and inviting, and the food was even better!
Lovely, friendly staff and delicious authentic Italian food. I’d highly recommend it!
