Have been going here for years but it is really going downhill. Two large cod were completely overcooked and hardly what I would call large, I would call them ‘small’, very greasy, and about 1cm thick including batter… in fact, one peice was so thin there was a huge space in the middle that was just batter and most of the actual fish was rock hard and inedible.nChips were so pale they were almost white, but to be fair they did taste nice.nWon’t be going back, which is a shame as they used to be so good.
Within walking distance of the beach. We've eaten here on 4 occasions and every time the food has been very very good. The last time we were here 17th June 2025 our order included Cod, Cod Roe, and battered sausage with chips.
Great gluten free options! I had a delicious jumbo gluten free sausage and chips. Good prices too. Highly recommend, will be revisiting!
Although turned up close to the end of lunchtime, they were very happy to answer questions re Gluten Free options.nThe menu offered gf battered fish & chips, deep fried chicken portions.nLovely chips and crispy batter, all with a large mug of tea as we chose to eat in.
Great quality food. Chips could be slightly more cooked but they had great flavour and it was very busy - clearly very popular with locals.nnWe tried the cod, nuggets and sausage all were great..it is 3 minutes walk from the sea.nnTakeaway only. Good selection of canned drinks. Best of all in my opinion - they have onion vinegar.
