Had my Granddaughter to stay and she loves her Fish and chips so what better place to take her. She had one of the small plate meals which was just the right size for her. Beautifully cooked. After she had ice cream with sauce and sprinkles. My partner had a large cod and chips and he had an enormous slice of fudge cake for dessert. The service is lovely, the girls are all helpful, polite and nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely recommend going here for lunch or dinner. Kid-friendliness: It was nice they asked my granddaughter what she wanted and not just ignore her and ask the adults. It made her feel special. Parking: Easy to park.
An absolutely amazing classic English fish & chips! Great staff and beautiful interior. Really good selection of food including fresh fish. Definitely worth a visit if you are near.
The chips are so good! Very fluffy centres and not at all greasy. I had the beef burger and it was very good- tasted like a real quality beef burger not a flat processed one. The others had cod and chips and thought they were very good too. Will definitely go there again.
Food was amazing as always, and the service is very good. When we visited it was quite busy but not a down point on the restaurant. The prices do seem a bit bigger than before but with cost of things going up it isn't unreasonable. Overall would highly recommend. Kid-friendliness: They seem to have a good kid menu option Parking: Parking is quite good although some of the disabled parking is at the far end of the car park Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance to the main restaurant is through double doors but they are quite narrow doors so could prove a little tricky for wheelchairs

A lovely dining experience with my friends. The fish and chips was generous in portion and tasty. The fish batter was also lovely and not greasy which is how it should be. The customer service was superb by the owners niece which made the whole visit worthwhile. The setting and the restaurant was lovely and very well maintained. Lovely food with great staff!
Top marks to Theo and his team at Papas Barn. A group 22 older peolpe visited on Monday 27 March and we were welcomed with smiles. The service was exemplary, everything was clean, the food totally scrumptious and the 'special' fish, chips, bread roll and cuppa amazing value. We will certainly be returning.
The best fish and chips I have ever eaten, you can tell the quality of the food by its taste and lightness. The halloumi fries are a must try too. This coupled with the kindness of both the stuff and the owners Theo and Michael, made a lovely overall experience. I will repeat for sure!
I love it here! Went with my mum and dad who are in their mid 50s, they said it was very traditional to how it was when they went for fish and chips with their parents as kids. They bring bread rolls and then a a fox glacier mint to end with and the food is delish. I normally have the cod or haddock half meal with a cup of tea, under £10 total and the perfect amount of food.
We use Papa's Barn a couple of times a month. They used to have to snap the end of the cod to get it in the box. Now a bit smaller and more expensive but the price of cod is absolutely extortionate to buy in at the moment so i must not be too negative here. The food is consistantly lovely. We have never had a problem. The food is always hot and freshly cooked for you whilst you wait. Top drawer !!!
