Six of us went last night, stayed longer than anticipated. Food delicious, good selection and generous portions. Proper authentic Mexican feel about the place. Staff friendly and helpful with plenty of suggestions. Nice beer and wine on offer also. I would definitely go again and would recommend it to my family and friends. My only criticism was there was nothing sweet on offer. We felt like some kind of dessert afterwards. We mentioned it to the staff and they agree. Hopefully this will be rectified for our next visit. 4 stars it would be 5, but no pudding...!!
Staff never seem to be at the counter. We had to wait a good five minutes just to be served. Watched another couple wait longer and they just give up and walked out. Burritos are tiny for the price as well, the taste was nothing to rave about. I thought I'd give this place a try for a change but I can say with certainty to just go to El Mexicana up the street. They do it much better. £1.50 for a can as well, robbery!
Possibly the worst experience ever. Staff member decided at 10:20pm that they close at 10:30pm and she couldn't be bothered to serve 3 burritos even though the food was in front of her. Absolutely unbelievable poor customer service. She blatantly coudlnt be bothered to serve food. Lazy and I would recommend amending this attitude of staff to ensure customers who come in at 10:20pm knowing the place shuts at 10:30pm may actually get served. Never heard anything so outrageous.
Have been going to Pancho's Manchester branches for years and was excited to see they were expanding to Liverpool. Naturally, had to pop in and it's just as wonderful as ever! Delicious, quickly prepared food with friendly, helpful staff and very reasonable prices. Can't understand the 1 star review, presumably certain other restaurants are feeling salty and have sent out saboteurs...
I visited Panchos today and really enjoyed the Pork Burrito & Jarritos. Nice staff, decor and atmosphere. As the manager of El Mexicana close by I welcome our new neighbours and can assure anyone interested that nobody connected with ourselves would ever maliciously comment about our "competitors". Bold St is a thriving location for restaurants and hopefully there's something for everyone here, so I wish them the best of luck and success.
I go to the Chester Street branch in Manchester quite a lot, and love it! I was very excited to see that one had opened up near me. I'm sorry to say that the burrito I got from the Liverpool branch was terrible. They heated the tortilla for far too long and it went hard and crispy when it cooled down. The pinto beans and the spicy chicken were very dry - they must have been left out under the lights for hours and all of the sauce had dried up. Finally, the guacamole didn't seem to have any salt in it - avocado needs salt! I won't be going back to the Bold Street branch; I'll stick to the Manchester branch when I'm over there. Pancho's management: please send the Manchester crew over to Liverpool to show them how to do it.
Got burritos delivered was really excited to get some good mexican but what we got was a spicy mess. We ordered mild sause on all of are burritos but all three came so spicy they were heard to eat. Not only that but none of them came with cheese or sourcream even though we specificaly said we wanted both. The over all taste of the burrito was bland except for the volcano like heat. The pico de gallo was probably good but you only got a whisper of the taste though the spice. Im from California I know good athentic mexican food and this was about as athentic as a taco bell.
Management doesn't communicate with each other; they tell you one thing then change their mind when another manager says the complete opposite. Food is pricy and not as nice compared to El Mexicana across the road.
The food was tasty but I think they need to start putting the taco fillings into doubled up tacos. I took mine 5 minutes down the road and when I tried to eat them the grease had turned the taco tortillas into flakey mush!
Panchos mislead their customers, food isn't any good and the atmosphere is ruined by the unfinished environment. Go to El Mexicana over the road, it is far better, especially with a 20% student discount!
