Have been dining here since 2014 the cafe is popular and can be very busy. Hot food and a range of tasty sandwiches and rolls are served and there is a terrific range of cakes and scones so also popular for afternoon tea. The store itself is well laid out and the clothing sections for men women and children are top notch. There is also a well stocked furniture floor and in the basement one for all your kitchen and cooking needs. We have spent well over £500 here in the last two years on furniture and bedding items for our home. Yarmouth's finest store without doubt.
For a small department store it had a good selection of goods from clothes to kitchenware and gifts. The staff are well trained and very polite and helpful. This is well worth a visit if your in Great Yarmouth. It is a shame it will taken over by another company in a couple of month's let's hope they keep it the same.
Palmers is one of my favourite stores; slightly from an older age. There are a multiple of different ranges of clothes from various stores, possible to get evening clothes, wedding outfits including hats and handbags. It has a homeware department in the lower floor. The staff are very polite. The cafe is excellent. It is an old building which makes the layout very interesting! It is rumoured that is may be being sold, if it does hopefully any new group with maintain its individual feel.
Lovely to see a store like this place. Staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Whenever we stay in Great Yarmouth we make a b-line to Palmers. Everything you need under one roof. Reasonable prices. Good store.
Unfortunately yesterday I noticed all workers on shop floor in women's clothing in groups and overhearing them gossiping instead of actually working. When I asked for help I would say staff could do with training on their customer service skills. There was no service with a smile, more like attitude because I had disturbed their group gathering. And shops wonder why people are buying online
I would like to give high praise and thanks to the staff in the ladies department of Palmers. I went looking for a graduation outfit for my daughters graduation. Sales assistant Jane in the Roman department took me under her wing. She knew the all the stock in the ladies departments well, and guided me with thoughtful choices to suit me. She was cheerful and a delightful person. She is a credit to herself and to the store. I will be shopping at Palmers again. Thank You Jane for your help.
Department stores are a dying breed but Palmers is still going strong after 180 years, yes that's 180 years! The majority of the ground floor is fashion items but there's also basement with some great gadgets for the home too. Definitely worth a look if you want to see a traditional shop and experience some good old-fashioned service.
I love this shop. Look out for the unusual stuff you just don't see in other department stores. Top end brands and a great selection of clothing, shoes, make up and homeware. The staff are really helpful and friendly!
Nice department store full of discounted goods friendly staff
Large department store that sells an amazing array of goods. Hardware down stairs, beauty counters on ground floor with lots of ladies clothing, handbags and shoes for men and women, perfumes and aftershaves. Mens clothing down a few steps at the back of the shop. Upstairs there's a lighting department, bedding and accessories, furniture, and lots of other household items. There is also a lift if you need it.
