Been eating here for years always good food and service. Until the new owners took over. It's been going slowly down hill with all the good staff leaving. Went in tonight (30/1/18) asked for a table, they cleared one, we sat down. We waited, and waited. We looked at the serverat least 20 times for some menus or cutlery, nothing. We had told the server we wanted food, she even told us it was curry night. So there should have been no confusion as to why we were there. Unfortunately instead of serving she spent her time on her phone and chatting to her friend at the bar. After 30 minutes we decided if they couldn't be bothered why should we, so we paid for our one drink and left. Don't think we will bother again.

Trouble with the online booking but staff could not have been more helpful. They accommodated us for Sunday carvery which was delicious with fabulous puddings too. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff made the whole experience a real pleasure. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Went for curry night as a Hallgate Timber works meal. Very good service, well priced and tasty too. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub and restaurant. With friendly staff. Food is nice and the place has a warm cosy feeling too.

Food was basic but overall, completely let down by the smell of sick, and apparent evidence on a lamp and windowsill! After being told staff commented they had a heavy night in there the night before, as if this is some sort of excuse, when open for family Sunday carvery, disgusting and won’t be returning.
