About

Traditional Pub serving quality food and drinks. Showing all Sky and BT Sports on 7 screens with a beer garden

Story

The Packhorse & Talbot pub is a traditional British London pub in Chiswick serving great freshly cooked traditional pub food. We also serve a fantastic range of beers from around the world, warming red and crisp white wines and a fantastic selection of spirits.

The Packhorse and Talbot has been a public house since 1650. Situated on the Chiswick High Road, it has played host to many prominent visitors over the years, most notably, in 1969, some of the conspirators plotting to assassinate William III met in this pub.

One of the witnesses at Jonathan Wilde's trial was Hays of The Pack Horse. During the 18th Century, Jonathan Wild was perhaps the most infamous criminal of London, and possibly Great Britain. This was attributed to not only his actions, but also the uses novelists, playwrights, and political satirists made of them. He invented a scheme which allowed him to run one of the most successful gangs of thieves of the era, all the while appearing to be the nation's leading policeman.

The Packhorse & Talbot is conveniently situated for shopping on the Chiswick High Road, is close to Turnham Green tube station and is convenient for Hammersmith, Shepherds Bush, Brentford, Acton and Notting Hill

Wonderfully dog friendly pub. Clean, staff were fantastic and so accommodating, well decorated. Thanks for the lovely vegetarian meal!
This is the best restaurant for Syrian /Lebanese food. The food is authentic, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend
Super friendly, happy staff make all the difference. Good selection of beer and comfortable interiors with outdoor seating both on the street and in a back garden.
Quite a cavernous establishment. Quick, polite and happy service by the staff, thoroughly welcoming. Plenty of both keg and Cask on offer. Loads of big screens dotted around for sports lovers. An ideal venue for groups. Well worth a visit!
Great selection of beers and incredibly friendly staff. Sensible Covid restrictions which mean you can enjoy your drinks and feel safe.
Prices gone up criminally since reopening and they don’t really seem to have a grip on any of the social distancing things. Won’t be going back which is a shame - used to be the best place to watch sports in Chiswick. 6.10 a pint !
Had a lovely steak and ale pie and drinks with my husband here, big portion. Really nice traditional pub, many screens with sports and they were on top of their game in terms of social distancing, service, cleanliness etc. Staff all friendly and helpful, thanks for a lovely dinner.
