We are a well established independent Family Funeral Director with over four generations of expertise. We offer a dedicated, sympathetic and professional service.
We are located in Chorlton, Manchester on Barlow Moor Road directly opposite Manchester Crematorium and Southern Cemetery we cover all surrounding areas.
Our company has grown through establishing a high reputation with many personal recommendations.
Philip Loftus, the founder of the company, entered the funeral profession in 1887 and since then his descendants have carried on the family business with his great grandson taking the tradition to the fourth generation.
We believe that a funeral should be arranged to fulfil the needs and requirements of the families or individuals and therefore pride ourselves on the wide choice of services which we provide.
The care taken in providing these services has helped us establish a highly trusted and personally recommended firm of funeral directors.

I would like to thank Lee and Steve for the wonderful service, After my dad passed away, Lee took care of us and did an amazing job, he helped us arrange the whole funeral. We were recommended P Loftus and Son by Father Cleary from St Kentigerns church. My dad passed away 5 weeks ago and we didn’t have a clue where to start with all the arrangements. I first spoke to Lee on the phone and from that moment he put me at ease and said that they would take care of everything from there. And honestly he was 1000% true to his word. He was constantly in contact every step of the way and took care of my dad and us absolutely amazingly. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It shows in their work just how much the guys there care for people as if they were their own relative. We will be forever grateful for everything they did for us leading up to the funeral and on the day. The care and compassion that you guys have is second to none. 5 star service from a first class company.

My family has used the services of P. Loftus and sons for many years: Chris and his late father have arranged almost a of the funerals in my family: I have also recommended them to friends each if whom share my views about the excellent service Chris and his team provide in an often distresful circumstance. Most recently Chris has arranged my aunty's funeral, held today. From my initial contact with Chris, folliwing my aunty's passing  to her funeral this morning Chris and his staff have demonstrated kindness, understanding and carried out all our requests professionally and with dignify.

The dedication, empathy and compassion shown to my family in the lead up and during my dad's funeral was nothing but exceptional.  I particularly want to mention Lee, for whom his job is clearly vocational. An absolute diamond of a human being.  Loftus have taken care of funerals in my family for years, and this experience reaffirms why.

I would like to thank Lee and the rest of the team for the wonderful service provided recently. From getting in touch with them to make arrangements to the day of the funeral,  nothing was too much trouble. I would particularly like to thank Lee for his compassion and I am thankful for the dignified way he treated both my deceased brother and us as a family. Nothing was too much trouble. It certainly made things so much easier and brought us comfort knowing that my brother was in good hands being treated in a dignified, compassionate manner. Thank you so much Lee.

I would recommend these guys all day long. Lee looked after our mum when she fell asleep 18mths ago and when our dad fell asleep last month we didn't hesitate to use their service again. We knew our dad was in safe hands as was our mum. We can't thank Lee enough. Again he went way above and beyond his duty to ensure our dad was well looked after. He treated him as if he were his own dad. He kept in touch and well informed with us all the way through and after. I can't thank Lee, Steve and the guys enough

My father passed away recently and at this extremely difficult time, we were greatly assisted by this wonderful family owned business run by Chris Loftus and his team.  From our initial meeting they took quiet control of all the arrangements and looked after my father with the greatest dignity, compassion and respect. They provided the family with all the necessary information, guidance with excellent communication and nothing was too much trouble.  The level of service was first class every step of the way, they were meticulous in ensuring that everything was as the family requested.  I would highly recommend Chris and his team to any family requiring their services.

My dad passed away recently and Chris from Loftus made an unbearable time for us as a family alot more bearable. Our family were treated with compassion and respect. Communication was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the team. Our dad was a brilliant and loving man and the team at Loftus looked after dad with dignity and respect. Our mum, Pat Clarke, died on 30th September. We were heartbroken and wasn't sure how to sort the funeral out. My friend Joe recommended loftus as they took care of her dad. We rang loftus and a lovely gentleman called Lee came round. He went above and beyond more than we thought was possible. He helped us with our grief and treated mum as if she was his own. He made himself available anytime of the day, nothing was too much trouble. Loftus&son has made mums passing so much easier. They've been fantastic and we can't thank them enough.
