Michael arranged my mum’s funeral in February and my sister’s funeral both of whom were really young this year for us and he was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and he was really caring, considerate and empathetic and could even be quite light hearted with us at such a sad time. We hope we don’t lose anybody for a good while now but when we do we would definitely use Michael’s services. Thank you once again.
Karen recently helped us lay our baby to rest. We had no idea what to do or expect and Karen just made everything special. As it was only me and my partner who was attending she still walked us through what to expect. We have always used Micheal Kennedy and we have always received the most caring and thoughtful services.
A big thank you to David Aitken for making the funeral of Michael Gorman run so smoothly. David brought all his expertise and empathy to a sad day. Thanks to David, Michael's neighbours could mourn in a secure and friendly environment. Helen Smith, Humanist celebrant.
Made us stand at the back of the Crematorium at my own Grandmas Funeral, with family members who cant stand very long due to injury and disability. Michael then made us leave before the casket was carried past us. Then to top it off, he purposefully missed us all out from the soil offering. Absolutely hurrendous. DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR FAMILY!!!!!
I tragically lost my mum who was at the tender age of 53. Michael and the team were amazing from start to finish. Michael is also honest and definitely not the sort to use your grief to spend a lot,which I have heard of from others :D
Had to attend the funeral of a friend that had a difficult life and had no family to mourn him. The decision to appoint Greater Manchester Funeral Service was made by MCC. I was contacted by one of the funeral directors at GMFS as I had expressed an interest in attending this persons funeral to pay my last respects. There was no money so I guess it was a council paid funeral. It was upsetting to find out that he had passed away. It was more upsetting that their would be no one there to see him into his next life. I had no clue what to expect of a funeral for a person with no means. It was David Aitken who attend our friend on his final journey. David walked me through the whole process. He talked to me about the service and told me the minister would be in touch. I didn't think there would be a service. He asked if we had any music. I didn't think that would be allowed but we were and David put what we requested onto a CD which was played at the graveside. We bought a huge bouquet of lovely sunflowers, because we didn't think there would be any other flowers but when our friend came into the cemetery in the hearse, you would never have thought our friend had no one and no means. Either side of his lovely coffin was flanked with silk flowers. David and his team acted with such kindness and respect and the minister Patricia gave us a beautiful eulogy. We were very much saddened by this death but we felt lifted following the service, knowing that people cared. Thank you for all you did for a lovely man
Michael and his wonderful team managed the funeral of our mum, Barbara Goodall. From the moment they collected Mum through to the closing of her ceremony they were absolutely fabulous. On behalf of the Goodall family, we say thank you to the whole team. You supported us through this most challenging time in our lives. Can’t express how amazing And thoughtful Michael is he truly go above and beyond , we have been Using Michael Kennedy services for over 20 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way , many years ago I lost my grandson and Michael came all the way to London for our beautiful little angel so he could be buried in Manchester my home town , When it come to care And dignity this is the best funeral service I can recommend , known Michael from skol days I guess you could say he part of the family ,I don’t no anyone who as a bad word to say about him , also his staff are amazing can’t Fault Any of them . Pray he and his staff the best of health . And thank you from my heart for everything you have done for the / Read /Kendall / Brissett family .
Micheal was away in Spain so his Side kick Stewart was left in charge. This man is a Absolute disgrace to Micheals profession. We as a Family go back many years to 1989 when we used their services for my Grandma & then in 2004 for my Mum. First my baby Sons name was left out of the Obituary only my three daughters names were included & on Contacting Stuart to point this out I'm duly informed " it can't be changed now it's to expensive"! Then the order of Service booklets printed my Former husbands DOB as 1953 when they knew well its 1951. There is a Poem inside the order of service referring to a " SHE," . & all we got on complaining is a very weak" sorry" THIS as far as I'm concerned has let Micheal down ,& Stuart needs to go seek employment in another line of work one that doesn't require skills where he has to use his incompetent Brain .
The funeral for my late brother Jamie was very well organised David listened very carefully to our families needs and helped create a perfect ceremony for us to say our last goodbyes with dignity. Thank you, I would highly recommend this company very professional and caring.
