On trip to lake district train switch happened here at 10 pm. There was no one we can see out and me and my wife were alone. Absolutely clean and maintained station. Building itself was pretty old but in top shape. Bins had fresh plastics bags, but small cafe was closed. We were on the last train and only two other people came. Train runs from oxenholme to windermere. Absolutely clean coaches sparkling clean no foul smell unlike the underground train rank smell. Station bath room was in main building at the northern end and had to go under the rail through tunnel to reach. Clean bath room with clean basins, soap and tissues were plenty, good hot water in taps and mirrors were sparkling. Absolutely well maintained station. The train staff was super courteous and made sure we hop on and get seated comfortably. Next time will take the same station, am so impressed. Kudos...
Main line train station in the lake district. No facilities, although they have a cafe only open till 4. Car park very expensive! Look in local area for parking.
How can you go wrong with a tuna and cheese panini? Somehow the very overpriced cafexpress manages . Avoid. Bring your own refreshments

Small station and limited parking. Staff are very nice. This station has a snack shop and a passenger lounge.
Disgraceful, train was cancelled, no one in ticket office to get help & the one member of staff that was available on the station was rude & unhelpful. This,as one of the main stations in Cumbria is an absolute joke.
The woman in the cafe shop at the station was the rudest person I've ever met, get over yourself you serve hot drinks to people that all have happier lives than you, and would all be better than you at your own job, interesting how she was polite to all the white customers though...
Nice little station. Very popular for the size. There are 2 station car parks and 2 private car parks and we struggled for 20 mins to find a space. Make sure you have plenty of time if needing to park, or use the pre-pay booking for the parking but do it weeks before your journey. The Willans food place adjacent to the station is excellent for hot drinks and pies, cakes etc at very reasonable prices.
My train was delayed and when i got off they were announcing us to rush for the next train. I ran as fast as I could just to close the doors in my face and say "too late" with a very 'I don't give a damn, expression.What's the point of calling us to run and not wait 1 single minute?
