Stunningly good food. Location is indescribable - the photos don't do it justice. You're literally sat in a little fisherman's cottage - I could hardly stand up - and served food like you're visiting family. Our menu had a distinctively Mexican feel which was a nice surprise.
Amazingly good food. The tasting menu is the only option, however it is definitely worth it. The fish is noticeably fresh, with a lovely twist on styles of cuisine.
Love a set menu and this didn’t disappoint! We ate it all; smoked cod’s roe, spider crab, cured sea bass, hake, lobster dumpling, monkfish satay, turbot on the bone + a vanilla set cream with strawberries & lemon curd tapas-style and I’m still hungry Eclectic wine list but keep it Cornish; Camel Valley Pinot Noir Rose Brut and Bacchus, Knightor Winery £80 pp + drinks
Stunning food in a lovely little restaurant right on the quayside. Service was excellent. Great experience for the family.
In the years to come I will look back on our meal here with a smile. All six courses were wonderful with the breaded sole/pickled veg/spicy Mayo and the lime parfait covered with meringue were outstanding. Great front of house friendly, informative and witty and a lovely relaxed and informal atmosphere. Memorable!
A seafood experience! The set menu is brilliant and the portion sizes are just right. Looked after very well by the staff.
Fantastic experience. Tiny restaurant with only 4 tables during our visit thanks to coronavirus but a warm welcome and excellent service throughout. Only a set menu available, but that made the experience better as it just meant the food served was based around what had been freshly caught. There was a good variety of dishes, and the whole experience was more relaxed and casual than your typical Michelin-starred dining experience. Access into Port Isaac is on foot via a relatively steep hill, so be warned. It is quite picturesque though...
We were excited to come here after having a fantastic experience at one of Nathan Outlaw’s restaurants in London. The building itself is absolutely brilliant, just like the town of Port Isaac. It’s tiny and beautiful. We came in the great COVID pandemic of 2020 which meant there were only four tables and the staff wore visors, but they still were friendly and smiley, and spoke loud enough to hear through the PPE. Every course from the set menu was well presented and brilliantly executed, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. The main course of classic ‘scampi and chips’ had some fantastic twists it was lobster with a chilli jam and chips with a garlic and herb mayo that all came together perfectly. On top of everything the waiter served my mums dessert of heavenly baked cheesecake with a little candle in it for her birthday which made her smile. Cannot recommend enough.
As part of a package we had a reservation for dinner at the Fish Kitchen, somewhere we had not been before. This is a small restaurant with probably no more than 20 covers at a time, and there is a time limit of 90 minutes if you eat before 8.30m. There are only a couple of serving staff, which is more than adequate, and the portions are small and sharing style which suits the location perfectly. We had a table in an alcove, which allowed me to watch part of the kitchen, which was fun! Wine list is modest but with some very good wines, which are reasonably priced. The smoked Mackerel dip, Beetroot and sourdough toast was particularly good opening and set up the meal perfectly, before moving onto Cured Brill, Citrus, Fennel which I really enjoyed. Cured Gurnard, followed by Crispy Spiced Monkfish with red cabbage, continued the journey through fresh fish all landed locally. The star for me was the whole Dover Sole, on the bone with. Cornish Potatoes with garlic and lemon butter — perfection, we even got an extra portion of potatoes with a knowing smile from the staff, seems it happens fairly often. My wife generally does not like fish on the bone but she was very happy. After a brief break to finish the excellent bottle of locally produced Camel Valley white wine. A great desert was then brought out, Passion Fruit, Peanut and Vanilla Baked Alaska what a finish for a highly enjoyable dinner. Fresh mint tea to finish a perfect evening. This is a brilliant restaurant with a great team that provide a memorable evening. All for £55 a head plus wine ~ very readable! Organised taxi service to take us back to our accommodation in the area
Wonderful atmosphere. We had the fish kitchen to share menu which turned out to be all but one of the dishes a side and desert . Service was very good and the food was exquisite. My favourite was the cured brill . The place is very small with only 8 tables . There is only one WC which is unisex , compact and quite impressive the way they have managed to fit the hand basin in . A must visit if you're a fish lover . From the cold dishes to desserts each dish was fantastic
