Having seen a poster on the window of the pub, I was excited to go to the comedy here for the first time. Other guests that I spoke with in the ladies' loos were also super excited to be at this regular weekly event. It's quite special to have this in Lee, we hail from Grove Park and I'm not aware of another comedy night so near to us in South East London. I noticed that the pub has been carefully renovated to a high quality and the decor and styling of the pub is really impressive, with original tiger tiling on the door of the main entrance. My partner and I had food in the main pub which was absolutely delicious. Really varied menu with meat dishes and also vegan options by @patwahkitchen There is a great atmosphere in the pub and the bar service is excellent. Super friendly bar staff with swift service and a smile to boot. At 8pm we went into the comedy club at the back of the pub which has it's own separate room. I really like this space, ample seating, the room was full so this is a popular event. We really enjoyed all the acts, entry is about £5 on the door and for three hours' worth of entertainment this is so worth it. Very professional acts and stage management. Some famous faces, too. Live DJ in the breaks playing afro- beats, R&B and hiphop, some of my favourite music so that is an added bonus. Thanks for a lovely evening, we will return!

Passed through the Old Tigers Head today and instantly felt a DIFFERENCE. The staff were friendlier, more polite ofering food from a CHANGED menu!! Not only was the Special - Pineapple fried rice super tasty, the jerk chicken was sensational! It would appear there is new management and chef and from working in this area from years past and able to pass mixed reviews it would seem this place is finally making tracks to place themselves as a real mark as THE SPOT! Definitely will be revisiting soon, and will highly recommend anyone else to give this place a visit if you fancy good TASTY food with a Pint!
My daughter had a party at the venue last week. Everything was so organised, right down to the meeting of the parents, which was very refreshing to see. All rules, etc were clearly articulated. There was no room for error and there were no errors! On the night everything ran so smoothly. It was pretty impressive. Security were an absolute dream and the staff were accommodating and friendly. The guests were well behaved. A great night was had by all. Big shout out to Warren and team. And a massive thank you for making my daughter's birthday night so special. Anyone looking for a venue please do visit / consider The Old Tigers Head. You won't regret it!!
Seems to be permanently closed for the passed fortnight. Beer's a bit pricey for all I use it for, a sawdust and footy pub, but this is probably because its not a sawdust pub but now well kept and catering for datey nights out and meetups also everyone I've met in there have been affable and good natured, including the staff. It's a good atmosphere. I'll definitely be back with revisits for matches as it's a pleasant local business that that's a plus to the area and needs and deserves support for their work. I'm glad to hear of it's planned reopening.
I hosted my 30th birthday party here April 2023 in the Tiger Lounge private room around the back. They were exceptional hosts: the cost of the room was very reasonable and the manager, Warren, was in frequent contact with me to aid the planning of my party. There were several positives, including the option to use their buffet/provide own buffet, usage of the music equipment/lights and more. The space was perfect for my party and the staff were all friendly and lovely throughout. An added bonus was the option to have the party until 2am! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to host a party/event. Thanks again the the Old Tiger’s Head team!
Come to The Old Tigers Head if you're searching for a location that will help your event operate successfully! Our "B.I.A. to Costa Rica" event went off without a hitch due to Warren and his staff's superb service, which helped our evening go smoothly. Even though we prepared our own food for the event, they were extremely accommodating in providing us with the space and supplies required to serve to our guests. In addition, The Old Tigers Head is in a perfect location from local shops and stations if you're travelling from afar. Again, would definitely recommend this venue!!
18th Birthday Party! A huge thanks to Warren and his team for hosting our daughter’s and friends 18th Party. Warren’s customer care was excellent, particularly around risk and security. The venue was perfect. A great space and sound system. Plus the added advantage of the pub next door for us to hang out without embarrassing our daughter! Thanks for giving our kids had a night to remember.
Listen, anyone reading this review - Go check out TOTH for after work drinks, bar snacks or book the function room which is what I did for a surprise bday party. Warren Manager and staff were amazing - before, during and after the event. Would definitely go back and have future events there.
Really good night and they hold a load of events including up and coming artists. Also it is just a really chill pub.
