Old Queen's Head
"Our Little Gem is a delightful country pub & restaurant that’s full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces. All are welcome in our bar area – even your beloved pooch! The OQH are a #dogfriendlypub. We even have treats doggy biscuits in at the ready! We have a stylish but cosy, two-level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months, and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play.Everything on our menus is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutney. Our dishes change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce that we can get our hands on."

Frankly the best local pub one could wish for, amazing friendly staff all full of beans and always smiling, couldn’t do more to make your stay more welcome. Beautiful garden space with plenty of space for your pooch to bimble about.. lovely range of drinks to satisfy anyone buds.. the locals are equally just as friendly, a wonderful welcoming bunch of peeps…. Chin up! Cheers!
Really nice, good looking pub. However, if you're looking to go for dinner and don't eat meat, you'll be in for a surprise even in 2022. Out of 8 'big plates' options, only one is vegetarian. Pretty poor compared to other local options. However, the bread, halloumi and chips were good!
Good vibes, and staff very friendly. The decor is fabulous. The menu as well the présentation is un usual . Dog friendly and my kids love the place. It was the re-open so crowded . Amazing place
We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon, they found us a table very nice spot. The staff were friendly and polite. We ordered 4 x roast beef dinners. Excellent not enough roast potatoes but then the meat made up for that. The vegetables were tasty. I/we didn't see the garden area. The car park is tight but enough space if people park sensibly.
Our first visit to a pub since lockdown eased for a proper meal and I wasn't disappointed. The service was excellent, as was the food and the staff very friendly. The bubble and squeak starter with perfect poached egg on top, beautiful and the beer battered cod, yummy. Garden is lovely and so is the interior. You could say that I had forgotten what it was like to go out and that's why I gave it 5 stars, NO I GAVE IT 5 STARS BECAUSE I COULDN'T FAULT ANY DETAIL. Excellent, see you again
This pub is well worth a visit! Jack, Millie and the Team look after everyone exceptionally well, it is clean, cosy and boasts a fantastic menu that focuses on engaging with local and sustainable suppliers. The bar area is always bustling which is always a good sign in my eyes but as there is a separate restaurant area - it gives you the option of a quieter setting, should you prefer. We just had a fantastic Christmas Office dinner here - and it really was spot on! As there are some great walks locally it is well worth integrating as an 'en-route' stop off - at anytime of the year! I really cannot recommend it enough!
It has become my go to even if its just for a drink.... today I had a starter which was the bubble and squeak...omg waiter pimped it out with some grilled chicken I mean yum... Service can be a bit slow but probably cos of restrictions but it's worth the yummy goodness. Staff as always fantastic
It has taken me a while to leave this review but I am now ready. This is such an excellent pub and the people who work here were wonderful. In August I had to organise a wake here for my dad's funeral - what was one of the hardest days of my life was made that bit easier by the professionalism and sensitivity of the team here. This is a heartfelt thank you that your kindness during this time - from organising it on the phone with me, explaining clearly how it works right through to your work on the day - will not be forgotten. The service and food was top quality. I would recommend for anyone
Visited on New Years Day, our third time since summer. We've been to a lot of local pubs in Bucks/Oxfordshire and the Old Queen's Head is undoubtedly one of the best if you're looking for a place to have a bite to eat, or just a drink on a lazy Sunday. The pub has a beautiful rustic interior and a pretty, medium-sized garden mostly patio. Online booking is straightforward, and we were welcomed promptly and sat in the dining section of the pub, to the left as you go in. Staff were friendly and helpful, as usual. We ordered the roasts which we have always found to be very good at the Old Queen's Head. We were fortunate in that despite being seated at the same time as a party of 12, our food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. Some fussy customers might say that is too quick, but every time we have eaten here, no matter how busy, we've always received our food promptly, which is a testament to the organisation of the kitchen. The food itself has always been to a high standard, especially the roasts which I would rate as one of the best in the local area. A nice mix of veg, decent roast potatoes and one of the best yorkshire puddings I've had at any pub, not to mention tender beef. All in all a great place to visit with family and kids on the weekend, or with friends in the evening.
Beautiful pub, had a couple of Sunday lunches here with friends plus another large family gathering for my 50th - we were very well looked after, and the food was great. Top drawer!
