Visited Potters Bar United FC during the summer and honestly, it’s such a chilled and enjoyable spot. Perfect place to relax, watch some cricket, and just enjoy the vibe with a cold beer in hand. The atmosphere is friendly and laid-back, with locals just enjoying the game and the sunshine.nnIt’s one of those simple experiences that feels really good — no stress, just good weather, sport, and good company. Definitely a nice place to spend a summer afternoon. I’ll be coming back for sure
We held a birthday party here and the venue and staff were fantastic. It’s a great location, plenty of parking and great to be able to have the option of outdoor area, dance floor and plenty of seating inside too. Everyone had such a fun night. Great communication on the lead up to the event and access to the hall earlier in the day for balloon set up was much appreciated. Thank you Sian and team!
We booked my husband's 60th birthday at Old Owens Sports Club and from the moment I made an enquiry, Sian couldn't have been more helpful. It made the whole process so easy and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. Sian had recommendations for balloon decorating, DJs and food. We decided on getting food from the venue which was perfect and went down well with our guests. We all had a lovely evening and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sian and the venue for a stress free event
As a family, we’ve held many events at Old Owen's over the years, including children’s birthday parties, 21st and 70th birthdays, silent discos, and fundraising events, and every time, the venue has worked out brilliantly!nOne of the standout features is the bar in the centre of the clubhouse. It makes such a difference being able to access and see the bar from the dance floor. At other venues - where the bar is in a separate room - people tend to gather at the bar, leaving the dance floor empty. That definitely doesn’t happen at Old Owen's, which helps keep the atmosphere lively.nThere’s also a smaller, more intimate side room that’s perfect for meetings or smaller celebrations. You can even book the Les Williamson lounge for private dining and have it closed off, which is a great option to have. I have to say at this point after two more recent parties, both of which went brilliantly a big shout-out to Sian, who is the newest custodian of the clubhouse. Sian is absolutely fantastic — such a friendly face and a generally lovely presence to have around. She and her team brings a refreshing feel to the overall experience of visiting, whether it be to watch sport live on the pitches, or televised on the TV/ projector screens at weekends, or meeting up for an after work drink BTW - if you become a member of the Old Owen's Association - for only about £24 a year - you get 10% off drinks at the bar! Overall, with its ample private parking and beautiful grounds, Old Owen's is a brilliant place to party, socialise with friends and family, or simply enjoy a relaxed couple of drinks on the terrace - AMAZING for a summer sunset!
Highly recommended hiring this venue! I held a quiz and party charity night there and it was amazing! The venue is great and the staff are amazing. Sian went above and beyond to make sure the night went smoothly, nothing was too much trouble and she was so accommodating. It was everything I could have wanted and more. The biggest thank you x
