Lovely Sunday Roast. Booked online for 2 people for Sunday lunch. Really friendly service from staff. Food was really well cooked and extremely tasty. Excellent roast potatoes and parsnips. Cheesecake was a perfect ending to the meal, very tasty and filling, the salted caramel sauce was great. Clean, has good toilets and car park at rear of the building. Definitely will be going back.
What a superb experience. Really friendly and attentive staff without being too attentive. The food was excellent, myself and my partner loved every dish. Excellent quality, well cooked, and a good portion size, and what we consider good value for the quality. We'll definitely be back Parking: Private car park to the rear
I came for dinner on the 20th of August for my sister's birthday, with a table of ten. Firstly I'd like to say the food was superb, well worth the money. But sadly our experience fell short there after. The old black horse inn has built a reputation locally as a fine dining establishment. As good as the food was, everything else was lacking. Firstly my parents have been in the drinks industry for 40+ years, and know there trade. So when it came to ordering drinks, there looked at the menu, and to there surprise it was woeful. My father asked the waitress what sherry they had, he asked for a Fino, a dry sherry. The young women didn't have a clue what a fino was, and responded by saying we've got Harvey's cream sherry. To my father's surprise, the waitress then, said they have a fino in the cellar, he was served a Harvey's, not what he wanted. I'll be honest and say there beer range was not representative of a fine dining establishment nor the wine selection. Everything on there menu I could get through my local tesco, or majestic wines. Nothing exciting. I also think, the staff needs some serious training. When asked no one knew what specials were on that Saturday evening, no one knew, about the wines when asked. I hope the management see this and make changes.
A lovely Sunday lunch with excellent friendly service, restored our faith in roast beef! The cauliflower cheese sauce was a little watery but all the other veg was perfect loved the parsnips. We would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Beautiful old pub and restaurant, the staff were all really friendly and even though they were busy they found us a table. The food was really good, the burger is amazing, well presented, great portion size. Very clean and tidy restaurant and all covid secure. I would highly recommend a visit
We enjoyed a wonderful family Sunday lunch here. The Sunday roast was superb and desserts fantastic too. Great value for money, especially as the mains came with generous servings of vegetables and roasts. The staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming too. Although we’re a 50 minute drive away, we will most definitely be visiting here again
Absolutely delicious food, great atmosphere and attentive staff :
Lovely place for a relaxing meal in the historic town of Market Bosworth. Friendly staff, excellent food and amazing coffee!
Wonderful champagne breakfast to celebrate a family silver wedding anniversary. Staff attentive and helpful. Continental and cooked options both plentiful and tasty.
Beautiful place, staff attentive and on their game perhaps not throw the wine bottles in the bin and place them as it made me jump every time! New menu. Soup arrived cold but was rectified immediately and was AMAZING! Lamb main terrible! Cold and undercooked so tough to eat! Dessert dry and tasteless Cheese was dry, seemed like it hadn’t been stored properly or was out of date! Such a shame
