A real gem during our visit. The history and what the place stands for are really nice touches. Alan was a lovely host, and made a real effort in making us feel special though the place was constantly busy. They stand by their word, and never at one point we felt rushed. Alan made us feel at home. Main feedback would be more of a non dairy alternatives available like cheese. But everything is sourced locally where they try which is a plus point. Food we had: Jacket potato, the salad was awesome Quiche was melt in the mouth Steak, was well done Thank you and best of luck for the future!
We absolutely loved our lunch and cream tea here! I’m sure everything is wonderful, but we tried the coronation chicken sandwich and jacket potato…and WOW. Highly recommend. So creamy and delicious! We followed lunch with cream tea. The scones were amazing and fluffy and warm! You can tell everything is prepared in-house and made with love. We also had a lovely chat with Alan and received wonderful service. They stay busy and it’s easy to see why! Book a table in advance because you don’t want to miss it!
Delightful experience at The Old Bakery Tea Room We went for Cream Tea experience and Fruit Cakes and everything was pure delight! All things from the menu were tempting since all sandwiches, cakes, treats and lunch offers are freshly made and to a high quality. Thank you Alan for such professional service and pleasant conversation and, of course, delicious scones of your wife Booking is advisable if you wish to enter without the queue. It needs to go on your list immediately when in Cotswolds!!!
Such a lovely place run by a wonderful couple. Best tea and scones I had while in the UK. The lunch was fantastic as well! I would highly recommend. If I ever have the pleasure of returning to England, I will make it a point to go here again.
The best lunch we ever had in ages! The food was delicious and Alan is a great host! We had the goat cheese salad and some jacked potatoes. Later on we had coffee made by Alan and literally the best scons we ever had, made by Alan’s wife. The place is sparkling clean with all the covid measures in place. We had a great time! Lucas, Maria and parents the Argentineans
Accidentally stumbled upon this beautiful but hidden place in Stow on Wold before heading back home! Absolutely lovely tea with pretty generous sized cones! The jam was amazing! Nice and cozy atmosphere! Will let our friends know as well to visit if they are there.
A must visit! We had a marvelous time having our tea here. We thoroughly enjoyed the scones, clotted cream, and forest berry jam, all of which was made in house. In addition to the tea, they have a range of hearty entrées and gluten free options. Finally, Alan the proprietor was especially kind and accommodating — he made sure that we left “happy bunnies”.
What an amazing find. Only has a few tables but what great service. Went here for breakfast. Excellent quality food. Love all the signs around the walls. It's worth a visit to read these and smile. Perfect eggs on toastFood: 5/5
We stumbled upon the Old Bakey Tea Room last minute when we were visiting the area and so glad we did! We were lucky to be there just as someone was leaving so recommend booking, Alan is a really welcoming host and great sense of humour. I had a sandwich and my wife attempted the tea and scones which she said were no joking the freshest and tastiest scones she's had! My sandwich was lovely and very filling. P. S. Also loved the Neil Diamond bangers being played. Will definitely be back! Thank you
You MUST book and try their scones if you are visiting! At first I wasn't sure as there is a selection of tearooms in town, but am so happy to have waited one hour to try the best scones of my life!the scone was hot and crumbly, the jam is homemade and so fruity, the clotted cream is abundant and thick! The tea, Earl Grey, was divine too. I have to say at first I thought the man greeting us was not very welcoming, but once I sat down and chatted to him, read about their business, I felt like giving him a hug. A small business that provides delicious food that brings you a smile deserves to shine. Will definitely drive back to have cream tea here!
