It's a dump. But I still go there a lot for convenience. The food is usually under average. Chips are like they've been cooked the week precious. Sausages are usually very suspect like they've been cooked and then reheated. I sometimes feel a bit sick after eating there. The toilets are disgusting and the whole place feels like it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. The interior is revolting. Sticky seats and the staff are usually miserable as hell and arguing with one another. This adds to the entertainment value though. In summary if you like a really greasy greasy spoon with extra grease this is the place for you.
It was great, so it had to be closed for new housing :
Always great - a traditional old fashioned cafe serving wonderful great British classics and breakfasts from the good old English fry up to Cottage Pie and so on. Highly recommended. Hopefully the pot holes will be improved in the car park soon...
This is a lovely transport cafe . Renowned for the amazing breakfasts. From their Olympic to a healthier option. They also serve roast dinners , hot meals, sandwiches, pudding s ie: lovely English traditional crumble and custard. It s not posh, but it is functional, very friendly staff, food cooked to order so you do need to wait for your meal, which in my experience is never long. I have never seen this establishment quiet, which speaks volumes .
Very nice place, the driveway into the cafe is quite the slipping hazard unfortunately with loose gravel everywhere, the cafe is a pretty old boy style place, with lots of Harley bikers. The food was excellent and cheap. Apart from the whole driveway issue, the place is a great stop.
Car park really needs to be resurfaced. Customers also need to appreciate the facilities. Polite notices asking not to leave water running. Why leave it running means no hot water to wash your hands. They try their best.
Quite a grubby establishment that appears to be run as a dictatorship.. don't ask for something different from the menu, or look for a clean table..You will be disappointed. Price are as to be expected, neither expensive, or cheap.. Car park may well ruin your suspension and tyres... Food is not bad, and the service was quick. An old school trucker type cafe that some will enjoy, others will not . Service with a smile is not in their vocab..
Oh what joy. A real old fashioned transport cafe. A generous breakfast at 3.30pm! Hot soothing tea, and the price was right. A charming young lady serving with a zest for life and her job. Don't be put off by the outside appearance of the premises as once inside the welcome is warm and you feel your custom is appreciated, unlike so many other establishments. I'd rather eat here in a traditional transport café than a spotlessly clean McD.....s! Food that not only feeds the body, but food to appease the soul, especially after sufferings incurred on the M25. Note: They close at 2.30pm every day except for Wednesdays when it's late opening. Go and enjoy. Remember, or learn, how things should be.
Having eaten hear a few times before I was extremely disappointed with my visit today. Prices have doubled for drinks and I asked quite clearly not to have an egg on my plate but for my partner to have my egg. Please male sure the egg doesn't go on my plate and "the egg went on my plate" I asked for a reason as I am allergic!! Food establishments need to take requests SERIOUSLY!!!!!
Old school transport cafe with a bikers meet every Wednesday evening. Great food and drink, lovely staff. Ignore the decor - it's part of the charm of the place. Great sausage sandwiches!
