Placed an order for sofa, love seat and two footstools in February and still waiting for delivery in September!! Numerous times we have been given delivery dates only for these to be cancelled at the last minute. The latest cancellation has come today on the day of supposed delivery - citing stock not in the warehouse. How can you not know this until day of delivery?? Never touch this company.
1 star at most. Lies lies lies. We bought bedroom furniture 13 items in total from OFL. We was told in store that these were assembled within the home. We wasn’t told that the furniture would come pre made at the time of ordering. Day of arrival comes and the delivery drivers advised they couldn’t get the wardrobes up the stairs. We have a large stairway, and if the furniture was lifted above their ankles they could have got it up the stairs. The delivery team stated it was the sales team have missold the items due to commisson that they receive and that it is really common. We sent all items back and spoke with the Birstall Team. They advised that it was ridiculous that they didn’t attempt to get it up the stairs and that there was more than enough room. They stated that it was Friday - that the delivery people couldn’t be bothered delivering and that they were agency workers. The store manager advised that they would get “their own team” to deliver them again and they would get them up the stairs. I showed them videos and pictures of the staircase to which they responded “if we can’t get them up your stairs we would be out of business”. We also spoke with the customer service team who advised the same and that there should be no issue to get them up the stairs. I sent videos and pictures of our stairway and never had a response on the matter. Delivery day again today. No attempts to get the wardrobe up the stairs stating “it won’t fit”. All other furniture was delivered up the stairs and now we have three wardrobes in our front room. I called birstall who stated we could get our 149.99 delivery money back. I will be contacting again tomorrow to discuss my further complaints. I called customer service who stated we couldn’t get the full 149.99 back and could only get £50 back due to “them delivering it”. The complaint team were really rude on the phone and not helpful. Absolutely shocking service. Would not recommend. It’s a real shame because the items are lovely but the service is appalling. Lied to constantly to get custom. Having to pay further to get the wardrobes up the stairs. Do not use this company.
Purchased a sofa from here at the end of last year; decent on price and quality. Only downside was that the sofa arrived with a threading issue. However, logging the defect was straightforward and an upholsterer was promptly sent to repair my sofa. The sales assistant Dexter was absolutely fantastic and was able to assist at every step of the process; as well as answer any queries I had including those post-purchase.

Bought a table and 6 chairs from OFL along with the additional warranty which meant it came with a tin of wax, the table arrived and the table top hadn't been bolted to the frame of the table properly, one half of the extending top came off when un-packaging it because the screws had been put in without washers. The delivery driver also decided to ignore the 'lift this way up' instructions on the box and throw it on his shoulder to bring it into our home. We were told that they wouldn't be able to get another table to us until after Christmas, when we'd booked primarily to have it in time for Christmas, after many phone calls and plenty of kicking off they managed to get us one sent before Christmas, on the false premise that I had to cook Christmas dinner for my family. It's this haste of getting out a replacement table that is the reason they have two stars, otherwise it'd have only been one. I then complained that I hadn't received my tin of wax, which was part of the additional warranty, sent OFL Customer Services an email explaining this and that I want it sending or that they refund me. I had to call them to sort it out, they sent it to my house which meant I had to go and collect it from the other side of town. But at least this whole endeavour is behind me and for what it's worth it's a decent bit of kit. Maybe they could just do with working on their manufacturers quality checking and their couriers attitude for other people's orders. The only advice I have for anyone, should they decide to make a purchase is that to always sign the documents, upon delivery of the goods as 'unchecked'.
In-store shopping was pleasant and salespeople weren’t too pushy. We were happy with our ordered items and paid extra for the premium delivery. However, offering this delivery option during supply chain holdups and materials shortages is disingenuous. By all means, I’m not faulting anyone for this situation, however delivery dates for both orders have been pushed back some times just hours before the scheduled and rescheduled delivery dates. For our kitchen items we ordered in September, we had a 6 week guarantee that turned into beginning of December, which was rescheduled once. For our bedroom items ordered in October they are arriving after Christmas now having been rescheduled three times. Customer service agents on the phone have been great, but placing them at them forefront of answering customers questions for the company over-promising and under-delivering is unfair and cruel. Many people will be frustrated at being told items will arrive after Christmas or at inconvenient times during the holidays and that they won’t have a table or a bed for when guests come to visit. Invest in more stable processes so agents on the phone don’t bear the brunt.
I wouldn't order from here. The delivery man couldn't be bothered to take the furniture off the truck due to deeming the stairway too narrow. When receiving a refund they tried to hold £180 of my money due to return and delivery cost. Managed to get £80 back of my money as a "good will" token. Lovely, cheers for giving me £80 of my own money back much appreciated. Still yet to receive the rest, absolutely robbery and especially in a cost of living crisis. Despicable.
We were looking for a king size bed and came in to have a look. The first member of staff we spoke to didn't seem interested in helping us at all. Then we met Dexter and he was super helpful, went through all our options with us, didn't rush us, asked us the right questions and made us feel welcome and a valued customer. Ultimately this swayed us to buy our new bed from oak furniture land. Thank you Dexter
