O'connell Street Medical Centre

I was very surprised to see the bad reviews for O'Connell Street Surgery. In my experience, going back literally decades, I've always found them to be excellent, both doctors and receptionists. Yes, it can be difficult to get an appointment when you need it sometimes, but this is true of the whole of the UK. The NHS needs more money, nurses, doctors etc. Considering the formidable challenges they face, I think they all do an absolutely first-rate job.

Worst practice I have ever been with. The receptions attitude is awful, they are rude and extremely unhelpful. They are front desk and the first person you greet/speak with, they should be polite, helpful and efficient. I always dread having to phone in as I always seem to get the most ignorant, ill-mannered person in the office. If I could I would definitely move to another practice where they know how to speak/treat their patients.

Shocking! As a key worker I've worked the whole way through this pandemic to keep animals safe and healthy yet this practice still fails to provide care, working behind closed doors...IF you are lucky enough to get an appointment. The local A&E department is busy enough without this practice referring most calls there. Remind me, why are GP's so special???

I moved 2 hawick december 2015 and after a bad experience with teviot medical centre. I showed up at oconnol st doctors in a right state about a lump id found.touch wood it wasnt cancer this time . Dr michie i found superb and has always had time 4 me wether face 2 face or over the phone.the other person i rate highly is the practise nurse stuart todd i think thats his surname he recently did an extensive cancer blood kit to see if i was on that merry go round again and pushed for the bgh to see me and do an ultra sound . Reception is usually great . Cant fault them

My 2 years old Daughters I’ll and docs won’t even see her until she gets a COVID test then wait for results. there exact words was we won’t see her or do anything till u have had the test and results. worst docs ever and this isn’t the first time this has happened. will be changing doctors as soon as possible

Phoned up for a appiontment was told to phone the pharmacy instead

Excellent Doctors at this practice in particular Dr Michie. However, I find some of the reception staff moody, uncaring and rude.
