Nottingham Playhouse has been one of the United Kingdom’s leading producing theatres since its foundation in 1948. Touring work nationally and internationally, the Playhouse remains firmly rooted in its vibrant home city, where its spacious modernist building – fronted by Anish Kapoor’s Sky Mirror – is one of the region’s most popular landmarks.

Booked tickets on line. Very easy to do. Lots of communication from the venue beforehand with all my information to make my arrival easier. Pre booked my arrival drinks and my interval drinks via the app online. Made cutting the queues Fantastic. Very well organised. Excellent seating layout, good sized stage. Very clean everywhere. The bar, the toilets, the theatre. Really friendly helpful and welcoming staff in all areas. Will definitely look at more things on here now I know it's so good.
Excellent regional theatre. Staff always friendly. Excellent and quick bar service pre and interval shows. The outside area is lovely for a drink. The theatre is modern so seats comfortable and good views everywhere. Some brilliant drama performances over the years.
We went to see Jen Brister – The Optimist here, front row. Her routine was explosive with hilarious outbursts about life in her 40s. I knew we were going to be get targeted by a gag or two sitting up front and we certainly wasn’t disappointed. Great theatre and great atmosphere, hopefully be back soon to see something different!
Fantastic night watching the amazing play Punch. Powerful real life drama, great performances. We’re blessed to have such great theatre in Nottingham, make sure you go as their funding has been cut by Central Government.
First time visit to see Minority Report which was excellent. Sat in row i. Great view of the stage. Lots of leg room. Parked in Mount St NCP for £6.95 using the Playhouse promo code you get when booking. Have to download ncp app. The bar is a bit soulless. Was much better when it was the Lime Light.
Almost a hidden gem...I always feel like I get brilliant value when seeing a show here. With each performance you can get a rawness but polished storyline. Lovely atmosphere in the theatre too. Will keep returning
Great venue. I think the term is "intimate" rather than close and tight... Sound had issues, but could be performer team tech rather than in-house.
Would just like to say how brilliant Minority Report was! The staging, special effects and acting was just superb! So much better than I had ever imagined. Being a fan of the movie I couldn’t imagine how you could pull this off in live theatre however the whole company did this with bells on! A great venue to watch it too. Good luck in the west end!
Its a bit run down and there are not enough toilets for the capacity of the building. Lots of time wasted during the interval. Seats were dirty. It needs some money spending on it.
First time here A wonderful modern setting for fantastic entertainment. Will definitely look out for future events
