The doctors are great when you can get to see them. The issue is getting to speak with or see anyone. Anyone dealing with mental issues will struggle tremendously trying to get help as you have to phone constantly early in the morning and are faced with constant engaged tones and when you do get through you might not even get an appointment. I've been using this health center since I was a baby when doctor Gould was in the center and since then getting help has dropped dramatically. This is not a knock on the Doctors as I said they are great but getting access to the help you need can be almost impossible some days. Bare in mind most of my calls are to request medication that only the doctor can give meaning the call will be over in a couple of minutes.
From 2020 it has got extremely hard to even speak to a receptionist never mind a doctor, the receptionists are very ignorant and sound really stressed, they need to understand it's not my fault that I am sick! I work 6 days a week not like them!!! and I have to try and call in between doing my job just to get a repeat prescription or speak to the doctor which is almost impossible to do in a 15-minute t-break, four or five times now I have phoned over 600 times in one day with still no response.
Outstanding patient care for my father who is a nursing home resident. The doctors have managed a complex condition really well. I can’t even imagine how stressful their jobs are at the moment in this winter crisis and they all have gone over and beyond in their care for him.
Great doctors and staff but far too many patients and not enough appointments, it’s normal to phone hundreds of times just to try to get an appointment to be told to phone back tomorrow. I have absolutely zero faith I’ll be able to get an appointment when I need it.
Been waiting on test results coming up to 3 weeks missed the doctors call then rang back several times to try to get a time for Dr to call still waiting and have been told yet again to call at 830 to arrange a time . Don't have time to sit on phone for half an hour redialing until I get through 120 times last count.
I was so nervous to have my smear test done… but I shouldn’t have been! The nurse I had was absolutely amazing, really put me at ease. Ladies, this isn’t something to be nervous of! Go get it done. The practice in general is fabulous. Yes, the phone lines are always busy. But everyone is doing their best and every practice is incredibly busy. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and lay staff that do such a good job.
Terrible phone service. Have tried for the 2.5 hours you can actually ring for 3 days now and still have not managed to get through to speak to anyone member mind an appointment. UPDATE THIS TERRIBLE PHONE SERVICE
I find the staff, nurses and doctors very nice, helpful and polite. Only gave the surgery 3 stars sorry but because of the phone lines. Need a fit note for my employer after giving them a self cert but have been unable to get through to the surgery via phone. Tried your website to see if could do it online and would also take some of the pressure off the phone lines. But found I was only directed back to the phone line, unless I'm doing it wrong!
In my 20 years experience reception staff have a terrible attitude, unhelpful, that's not my job, that's not how it works, with a tone of voice to match; patients and patient correspondence are treated as a problem and not a client/customer relationship - uncaring. When I reminded them of their poor reputation and poor service to me, instead of apologising or even listening, I was told others think it's a fantastic practice,.... all mouth and no ears. Clinical staff are fine, you just need to get past reception. Prescription order line it turned off at night and at the weekends, what madness, if you can manage to get through, you spend a minute listening to menu options and announcements.
I can't fault the doctors here. They've always been very helpful and take the time to listen. But the receptionists are rude, difficult and abrasive. I've often thought about moving GP because of this, but I'm worried it'll just be the same elsewhere. An example of why I find the experience so frustrating. You have to wait until the GP is open to order a prescription through their automated service. It's an answering machine, it should be a 24 hour service. The last time my wife rang, she had to redial 300 times to finally get through to someone. Furthermore, I don't appreciate reception staff asking me numerous questions that only a doctor should ask.
