Coming from someone that never seeks medical help, unless really concerned, i really want to say, the staff and care i received today, was truly amazing. Believing that i may have been having an Heart Attack, everyone was fantastic, I felt so much better from the receptionist, to the Doctor who was the last person to see me. You're all a credit to your Profession. Cant thank you all enough. xxx
Nursing staff are phenomenal. A&E staff ridiculously overrun and getting abuse but amazing. Firth 6, day nurses Simon and a student called Esther were fantastic and couldn't do enough. The doctors, however, were less than ideal. Wouldn't listen to problems and were just pushing people out of the door without assessing properly. It would be a 0 star rating if wasn't for the incredible nursing team. They need much more than a 15% pay rise.
Today i have taken a friend to the Eye imaging hub we first went to Hallamshire to be told moved to the general on getting to the main entrance we where given directions to the wrong department so another map and a walk to find the right place we came to a fence so we looked for someone to direct us eventually finding the lady that used to work in the building before it was converted to the eye imaging up why there is no sign of Job. I haven’t got a clue we didn’t see a sign anti-war nearly on top of the building. We were late for the appointment. We were lucky with the staff so my friend because I could’ve refused. This is what cost the NHS money because people cannot find the department. They are looking for a very frustrating afternoon from arriving an hour early for an appointment to get in there 3/ quarters of an hour late.
My GP arranged for me to have an ultrasound here and it couldn't have been a better experience under the circumstances. There was a 10 minute waiting time and two scans took about 10-15 minutes. Leanna and Julie could not have been any nicer - both so calm, patient and understanding. A huge thanks to them both.
I recently had a colonoscopy at the Northern General. I chose gas and air instead of sedation. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable. The staff were amazing, constantly checking I was doing OK. I was even given coffee and biscuits afterwards. I was put at ease the whole time. Thank you everyone.
I try avoid going to the hospital as much as possible for inconveniences, but needed a surgery doing and was made to feel very comfortable by the lovely team of ladies at the urology department. Only caught one of their names Marriane was great at creating humour in a nerve racking situation! Was treated with dignity and empathy - appreciate the hard work!!!
If it wasnt for the staff at this hospital. I wouldnt be here writing this now. 2 hours from making my 999 call i was treated for a heart attack and on a ward recovering. I wouldnt be here if it wasnt for the speed and expertise of all the cardic team on the 30th of jan. Problems with the nhs come from higher up not from the hard work of doctors,nurses,paramedics, and all the faces we see. These work miracles every day
I don't rate the place at all , another casualty of corner cutting due to mass immigration.. more people to treat , not enough money . My Girlfriend came here due to DRI refusing to put right their screw up. NGH removed the broken screws out of my girlfriend's ankle , they left the metal pins in without putting new screws in causing my girlfriends ankle bone to split , they also damaged the tendon causing here to have no feeling from her toes to her knee. The ortheapedic consultant said her ankle has healed perfectly. They cancelled her ankle fusion surgery 4 times which should of been immediately done when they removed the evidence of Doncaster Royal infirmary's screw up . But they messed her about COVID 19 was used as the perfect excuse . NORTHERN GENERAL'S EXCUSE FOR LEAVING MY GIRLFRIEND WITH METAL RODS IN HER ANKLE THAT WERE UNSECURED WITHOUT NEW SCREWS " SHE HAD AN INFECTION THAT THEY DIDN'T TREAT " AN INFECTION THAT'S LEFT HER FOOT FULL OF CYSTS AND AN ABSCESS , SHE IS NOW IN A TERRIBLE STATE APRIL 2023 Because Northern General were messing my girlfriend about her GP sent her to Rotherham general hospital who did nothing. " Sandeep kapoor hid her Ct scan results , Ian carmicheal was no better , Tom Neil a coward of a male matron took the p*** and wouldn't answer any questions I raised . Katy schuker " the big I am " started to threaten me with the police and being banned from Rotherham general hospital for challenging their neglect ! It's disgusting how the NHS gets away with negligence. The hospitals all stick together. My girlfriend now waits for Amputation Kapoor had no intention of helping my girlfriend . When you see 3rd world Drs you get 3rd world care . The NHS stinks . Even Michael Wright the chief executive here is pig ignorant " another Gutless over paid , under worked Beurocrat "
After suffering a cardiac arrest a month ago and spending 9 days in intensive care plus another two weeks on a ward, I owe the staff here my life and words are not enough. I have gone from being unable to speak or eat for myself to being back at home as normal with full brain function in 4 weeks, fantastic staff who are truly dedicated and do a fantastic job.
This place is the faulty towers of hospitals and the review reflects the management not the actual nurses or doctors that looked after me. 5 hours in a and e 3 hours waiting on a recovery bed in the holding area for a ward bed 6 hour delay getting CT scans 25 hours from having the operation until finding out the outcome from surgeons because they were too busy 11 hour waiting period from being told you’re going home, then to be told you’re not because there is no one to make up your meds or discharge papers. Absolutely disgraceful management. It’s clear to see why all Sheffield hospitals CQC reports fall under inadequate or requires improvements.
