At long last....after years of threats..Ali Mitchell, having run Mainstream Motorcycles in Edinburgh from 1992-1999, has moved north and returned to the business. Opening up around the end of September, North West Motorcycle Services will offer Argyll's bikers top quality services and specialist repairs for ALL types of bikes.

we had to call here in June due to a friend of mine having a problem with his rear brake(split brake hose). The owner turned up on a saturday morning at short notice and made a new brake hose fitted it, freed his brake caliper off that was seized and refitted it, made us all a cup of tea( there was 5 of us) and charged my friend £20, fantastic service and a top bloke.

Hi Ali, just a quick thank you for the prompt and excellent service I received from you this week. You repaired my triumph bonneville which broke down in fort William. As you will be aware I was on holiday with the family and thought my vacation would be cut short but thanks to you I have been able to enjoy my break and I have now returned home to Hexham in Northumberland with no issues on the bike. Thank you again and to anyone reading this post I would highly recommend this garage. Five stars are not enough.

My wife Louise and I were on a west coast biking holiday when I found my rear tyre had a puncture. Having done our research before the holiday we found Ally's workshop in Oban and turned up unannounced, hoping that he could get me back on the road. We need not have worried. Within a short time my bike was up on blocks, the the tyre off while Ally carried out a very professional repair. Afterwards we were treated to a cuppa and had a good yarn together. All for £35, what a bargain.

 Any bikers intending to bike through the west highlands would do themselves a favour by keeping address with them. Great guy, great service.
