Story

North Port is an independently run Scottish fine dining restaurant located right in the heart of Scotland and Perth. The owners Karen and Andrew and their team are passionate about showcasing the very best of Scotland’s food and drink. Our culinary expert and head chef Andrew loves to use local ingredients in his creations, using only fresh and regional produce. Everything is made in house here at North Port, from the haggis to the oatcakes and even the sorbets. The North Port chefs love to challenge the norm and create inspired and different dishes, unlike anything you will see around Scotland. Our home is a historic building dating back to 1774 and is only meters from the historical Fair Maids House, Perth’s Concert Hall, Theatre and Museum. Karen and her front of house team will give you a warm and friendly welcome and offer a comfortable environment, and ensure your dining experience is relaxed, unhurried and memorable.

North Port caters for all; we have a private dining room for birthdays, celebrations or just general get togethers; we have tables for romantic dates and welcome business meetings. We offer vegetarian and vegan menus and as we cook everything from fresh we can cater for any dietary requirements. We offer a Lunch, a Pre-Theatre and A La Carte menus, and create new dishes everyday for our specials and our menu changes regularly depending on the seasons and supply so there is always something new to try.

The waitress was lovely, really caring and managing super efficiently the entire restaurant! Impressive! The food was divine, we had a wonderful time. They offered options for our son who is 6, and he loved the food they made too. We were only visiting the area but would definitely come back!

Wonderful evening spent here celebrating our wedding anniversary,  Food was delicious, starters of monkfish & venison, followed by hake & steak then the best sweet ever tasted according to my wife honey parfait  which included a lemon sorbet to be savoured.  It gets a thumbs up from us both.  Special mention to our hosts too.

Fancy little place in the heart of Perth where we decided to halt and just have lunch. It came so highly recommended that it was worth the city detour. And I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all. A cute little table was reserved for us and the starters were some refreshing pudding along with butter and toasts. Then the main starters and main courses were uniquely prepared and presented. Mine was a flavoursome mash of proteins, grains and garnishing. The carrots  and other veggies had a fresh and healthy taste to it. Right amount of crunch and cooked sogginess which you expect. It almost felt like they have a farm of their own from where they pluck these veggies daily.

Excellent food, great service, reasonably priced. Really was a taste sensation from beginning to end.  Vegetarian options: Good selection    Parking: Plenty around the area.  Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level.  Dietary restrictions: You are asked when booking.

We went for dinner before a show in the theatre next to the restaurant. We booked for 5pm to give us plenty of time. It was a Wednesday and it quickly filled up. We had smoked mackerel and the squash as starters then shin of beef which was melt in the mouth amazing. We had mash on the side. The whipped crowdie with blackcurrant sorbet and granola was equally delicious with intense flavours, Scottish cheesecake indeed. The service was great, every dish described and drinks provided promptly. Water given by default and bread served after. We were also offered more bread when we finished it. We had coffee to finish and also offered top ups. A comfortable room and warm too. Great food good value.

I was taking part in a cycling event down in Perth and had an evening meal with my wife and friends. We were made very welcome by the staff and enjoyed the food and wine. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again when I'm in the area.

Excellent restaurant using local ingredients to turn out some delicious food. Historic building that is nicely decorated & very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. I will look forward to coming here on a future visit to Scotland.

Lovely cosy atmosphere. The food is amazing, I loved their homemade chips and managed to try the pudding. No complaints at all it was fabulous.Food: 5/5

4 of us had dinner here recently. One of our group is a celiac, so eating out can occasionally be a lottery. But not here. The staff/kitchen could not have been more helpful or attentive. We had an excellent meal and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine. Great wine list too. Highly recommended.
