My mum was so privileged to be cared for by the wonderful staff at North London Hospice. They were so kind, friendly and caring. From doctors, nurses to catering, cleaning and volunteers, everyone took the time to chat and showed an interest in the person and family. The level of care was phenomenal. Such a dignified and special place. Forever grateful.
The care and compassion something my elderly mother barely saw at NHS establishments received from the staff here by my mother was astonishing. I cannot thank them enough. They have restored my faith in human beings. When my time comes,l am heading straight here.
So grateful to all the staff we interacted with during the last few weeks of my mum’s life. Everyone was brilliant, answered our calls quickly, found answers to our questions and were just so very lovely at such a difficult time. Most importantly they treated mum with respect and dignity and helped us to fulfil her wishes. Thank you x
Care but not as one would expect from a supposedly “caring” hospice. Their level of care is ok until you overstay your welcome, then if a patient is there for more than 4 weeks they want you out. Some of the nursing staff appalling and rude, especially Paddy, horrible nurse with wrong attitude.
This beautiful place couldn't of given my mum a more dignified place to pass on. They are so kind and attentive and I'll never forget their generosity. I spent every night at my mums bedside and they were so kind to always offer me meals/any help too. I often pop back in on her birthday/christmas to give the nurses a small gift, but I truly don't think anything will ever be thank you enough. Such a beautiful place full of beautiful people.
The North London Hospice does incredible work. My mum was adamant she wanted to die there. It has a calming environment and a lot of space to hang out as a family when you are not in the room with your loved one. The volunteers bring you tea, and there are support staff to support with your mental health. The nurses and doctors are extremely kind and respectful. My mum smiled at one of the nurses who was so cheerful, even a day or so before she died. Another nurse actually managed to make me laugh, helping me get comfortable so I could stay the night and be with mum. A hospice is a strange place, something that is difficult to become familiar with. What is a very sad place is also incredibly beautiful.
Firstly I would like to thank you for my dad's respite as I have a health condition that made it extremely challenging dealing with his palliative care. The home care support was vital. I would like to thank Patrick & the two nurses that gave their support when most needed. Regarding the hospice, it was clean, the staff seemed to only be available when prompted & gave basic care, left alone dad was barely capable of pressing his buzzer. I was clear that I felt my dad was to unwell to be moved, yet the rush to get him out was made clear within the first week. This led to pressure my end to find a nursing home & while doing so I was called 2 hours prior to my dad's death Living in Brighton I got into my van & drove straight up, lucky my brother was on his way. When he died I was 1/2 hour away in traffic. I understand this was how it was meant to be, although had I been informed sooner & they had listened to me I would not have been in Brighton looking for a nursing home. Most of us do not want to send our loved ones away from their home in doing so clearly in my case means he had gone downhill rapidly. I am glad he did not die alone & was with family.
Thank you to everyone at North London Hospice for the care kindness ,warmth, compassion, patience and loveliness you gave to our beloved father -Frixos Eleftheriades room 7 . Thank you to the volunteers and their reassuring smiles and chats at the entrance door.Your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated by both patients and their families, long may it continue.
Totally recommend the North London Hospice to anyone the level of care respect and love shown by all staff blew me away. At such a very difficult time for us and enabled my father who rightly deserve to died peacefully and in comfort. Huge thank you beyond words
Made the last few weeks evan more painful than it already was for my family. Some of the care team was excellent, however the neglect and lies can not be over looked. The overall feeling was that my dying mother in law had over stayed her welcome.
