Luckily it was open on Saturday noon at 1pm. Lots of seafood options to choose from. More options are on the board inside the restaurant. We went in without reserving a table. Within a few minutes the place was full. Very polite gentlemen, gave enough time to choose, were very considerate to the fact that we don't consume alcohol and offered us fish and chips prepped with tempura batter instead of beer batter. Best of all was plaice fish and shrimp in creamy sauce and butternut squash soup. Service and quality top class!
Superb for fresh seafood. Came for dinner as a group of seafood connoisseurs! We were in the area for We all enjoy seafood and were spoilt for choice. We were a group of 5, and all dishes were perfectly cooked and well presented. I chose the skate wing and couldn't decide how I wanted it cooked. They offered to cook half and half, which was the perfect solution. Superb service and very accommodating with menu and requests. Highly recommended!
Wow. What a brilliant dining experience. Can't rate this place highly enough. Such a wonderful and unusual selection of fish/shellfish dishes. It was difficult to make a choice but we opted for the King Prawns in Garlic Butter, followed by the King Scallops with Mushrooms. It was the right decision. Both dishes were quite amazing. Desserts were also served with a twist. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The good news is that we didn't feel the meals or the drinks were overly priced.
5 stars just isn't enough for this plaice. Amazing service from the moment we entered until the very end. We booked in and arrived slightly early, we were taken up to the wine bar and then shortly after we were taken to the restaurant, we were shown a selection of the different fish been served and was not disappointed! The menu is great, the service was outstanding with extremely high standards and the whole team were great! We would recommend and return again!
Lovely food and very nice wine bar upstairs. Muscles were amazing, lovely cod, prawns and scallop for mains. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was that the garlic and rosemary potatoes I had lacked flavour and were undercooked. I genuinely couldn't taste any garlic or rosemary. Also would like a bit more of the lovely tartare sauce. Other than that, the host and staff were great.
Incredible fish here and very friendly staff. Owner Paul made our experience perfect allowing us to eat upstairs with a window view of Torquay Harbour. Our host, the bar manager was really great and catered to all our needs with great knowledge of Torquay and surrounding areas. Fish was fresh and cooked really well. Was recommended by a family member and really glad we visited.
If you like seafood then this restaurant is an essential visit if you are anywhere near Torquay but it might be worth making a reservation as it seems very popular. Can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back.
Lovely restaurant, maitre d a little formal on arrival, while another waiter wasn't quite in the mark, especially when he dropped the heavy lobster crackers which just missed my mum's foot! All the starters were excellent, best seared scallops I've eaten. Mixed bag with the mains, I chose the mornay which I expected it to be served in a Mornay dish hot and bubbling straight from the grill, but the sauce was just poured over the fish on the plate, and it had a strong taste which wiped out the flavour of the fish, and it was quite thick and gluppy and a skin had formed over it, which I found a little unpleasant, also one of my husband's pieces of fish was a slightly over, and the half lobster looked like it has been on a diet! Like the starters, the desserts were delicious, and overall we enjoyed the experience. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, just a little disappointed with the mains, especially being a fish restaurant hence 4 stars and not 5.
What an Amazing Place to eat. Brilliant food, great atmosphere awesome choice of Fish. There is a large choice of starters and Mains available from the Menu and The Specials Boards. The staff on duty that lunchtime were brilliant and so knowledgeable of the menu and the fish. Paul, Harry and Emily. Paul is very busy, very punchy and has a great sense of humour if you listen. There is a great wine choice available too and the staff are easily able to recommend for you if you so wish. The food came in good time and was of exceptional quality, both starters and mains. The dessert of apple crumble was also of high quality. This is a brilliant restaurant with high quality service and exceptional food. So worth a FIVE STAR review. Do not believe some of the rubbish written elsewhere, I understand we are all different, this is a place you should visit and you will surely enjoy the quality of your meal too. Book ahead to avoid disappointment. I will be returning in September 2021 when next in Torquay. Brilliant restaurant backed up with brilliant service and food and wine choice and quality to match. Returned again in September 2021 and January 2022 and the food and service was exceptional again. A further visit in May 2022 again the food and service is absolutely top class. Visited the cocktail bar upstairs which is a lovely setting to enjoy a view and a nice drink or 2 before your meal. This is a must visit restaurant if you like your fish.
Attended this afternoon for a private function for 25 people. Service and food were excellent. Very fresh and tasty. Plenty of food in each course. All cooked very well. Highly recommended for a first class fish restaurant. Parking: Large car parks within 100m.
