Relaxed and intimate independent coffee and wine bar nestled in on Canute Road and just a short walk from Southampton’s Oxford Street and Ocean Village marina.

Story

We reopened No.4's door start of 2016...

A few tweaks have taken place since we were given the keys, but essentially the place is as originally envisaged and we hope to keep it going strong whilst always improving, with the support of you brilliant and loyal customers.

We pride ourselves on providing home-made breakfasts, fresh paninis, salads and cakes, always served with a smile. By night indulge in home-baked nuts, Spanish olives, cheese and charcuterie boards, perfectly matched with our handpicked wine list. We've also introduced crostinis and flatbreads to the evening menu for you to nibble on when you're feeling a little more peckish.

We're pleased to say that in revisiting the menu, we've paid special attention to our veggie and vegan customers. Our menus clearly point out which dishes and drinks are suitable, so now there's lots of choice for you too. Gluten-free bread is now available and we also stock Estrella's gluten free beer.

We are very proud to say that our coffee has been described as the best in Southampton, and that you voted No4 as finalists for Newcomer of the Year and Customer Service Award at the 2014 Hampshire Life Food and Drink Awards.

We strive to continue to provide excellent customer service day in, day out, and our team at No.4 are extremely passionate about everything they do and look forward to welcoming you all back!

I loved the idea of combining the sale of wine and coffee plus decent range of whiskies and liquor. Will definitely come back.

Great quality coffee, sandwiches and cakes.  And in the evenings they have a good selection of wines and nibbles.  It has a really nice upscale feel about it, and the owners are lovely.  Exactly what we need more of at Ocean Village.  I do hope they do well.  It's now officially our local!

Lovely little bar with an average selection of booze.  looked like some nice nibbles there too.  Also had boardgames and I nearly beat my girlfriend at backgammon!

Huge mug tea, was asked which milk I'd prefer : cows, soy, rice or coconut. Soul music playing in the background, all the ones I love, Aretha and Marvin etc... Highly recommend this very relaxed vibe.

Amazing place, thankfully quiet, but it should be packed. Unique but intimate,  friendly and efficient.   Loved it.  Food gorgeous x the cheese board and bread to share, with proper Ale.

Great cosy newly opened bar. Lovely snacks and light good. Wine list fair but only 4 wines of each colour available by the glass.

Great atmosphere and some really nice unusual peanuts with chilli and lemongrass to go with our wine. Recommended.
