Thank you to Ryan in menswear you definitely made process of finding a suit today less stressful it's appreciated
Went to store today to pick up my order only to find out part of it was missing. I spoke a man called Jamesy who was really lovely. He phoned customer services for me to find out why my item was missing and managed to get it re-ordered. Very friendly and profession, great customer service from him which is a nice change as I don't feel you recieve alot of that these days. Well done
Staff forgot to take security tag odd jeans I bought. Preceded to set off every alarm I went through after leaving the store. Got stopped and had my bag searched 4 times before I realised what was setting it off
'Next' is a smart enough store, plenty of clothing variety, lots of sizes, choice and colour, well arranged for easy access, well lit, centrally situated from the bus station and Eldon Square. It's no use for old men like me, however ! The shoes are too pointy, too plasticky; the trousers are too narrow in the waiste and too long in the leg; the jackets are all 'look alikes' with no class for a man of distinction and classic taste. Shirts? I get all mine from the Salvation Army shop. I was in Next yesterday. What I was looking for, with winter threatening, was good fitting, body snug thermal underwear maybe reinforced as a substitute for incontinency pads. With the huge rise in gas prices, it's clear the central heating won't be on in our house much. With global warming taking the ice out of winter, and with my 'thermals,' I hope to keep the bills low. Next don't appear to sell gents' thermals. I didn't try the lady's dept for obvious reasons but my Mrs. will be watching for some big sizes. For me. Pink, or any colour will do, as long as they fit. I'll just have to be careful in the gent's urinal. My wife says I must improve my image; be careful I don't smell that stale, ammonia smell. As an old trawler man I always kept a plastic bag full of XL womens' tights. Better than long johns in a way. They don't collapse inside your trews and down your waders when you wet yourself. There's nothing worse than trying to pull them up when you are skinning skate. Hauling in the nets on a stormy sea with bitter 'easterlies blowing, tights can't compete with proper thermals, but are more versatile; can't beat them for filtering the diesel fuel in an emergency. Better to rinse before you wear them again!
Don't bother shopping here if you are over a 38 inch waist or want regular fitting trousers.
The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Very disappointing experience. Will not be coming back.
Found nice clothing for women and children, men's, not so much
Staff very helpful but a had to return to shop on Christmas eve as the shirt I.d bought for my son was inbthe wrong size hanger. I could have done without this on such a busy day.
Used to be my favourite place to get my basic items from but the behavior from staff today definitely changed that. Overall grumpiness, ignoring customers and OPENLY complaining that there is a queue while facing said queue is already quite bad, but the person downstairs at the child clothing/click and collect till topped it off for me. It was my first and last time ordering click and collect and I was a bit lost. When I have been rudely told by someone who seemed to be the supervisor that I need to go downstairs I did not know what to expect. This person who's pronouns I don't want to guess called out for people waiting for click and collect so I quickly put my hand up and approached the desk, trying to show this person my order number and just get a little help, as I had no idea how this click and collect works! In other shops you show the code to staff and they fetch the itmes for you. I have been greated with the biggest arrogance and rudeness I have ever experienced from any staff in retail. This person basically talked to me in a tone you wouldn't even use to describe someone's bowel movements and fumingly spitted at me "WHO are you?! WHO are you collecting for?! Go put your code in the kiosk." As much as I do understand how difficult and tiring it can be to work in customer service, this is not a way to speak to anyone, let alone a paying customer who PAYS your wages. Maybe time Next actually trains their staff and puts the right management who is not grumpy herself but actually helps staff and trains them so they don't get to the point of ignoring and screaming down customers. Disgusting behaviour.
As next goes this was a bit larger than the norm, but that aside stock wasn't very accommodating to various sizes. It was hard to find anything much in differing sizes to the average 10/12. Only managed to find a few bits in a larger size in both womens and mens.
