Admittedly I came during the late afternoon so it was very quiet on a weekday. I've been coming here since it was the slug and lettuce. The service was friendly, helpful and informative even though I had to ask for service. Quite impressed by the stage area which I'm assuming must be quite entertaining when they have events on. I just felt the physical place looked a bit tired and need of a refurb. The lager didn't taste brilliant unfortunately. Hence the 3 star rating because I wanted to give more because the staff, once I talked to them,were really good.
Best bar wench in town, always serves with a smile. Actually no bad smells for once, hope it stays like this!Food: 5/5
This place is amazing with the right group, go there to have a safe fun time and you won't be disappointed, A rare refuge for lgbtq+ people Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramps low doors and only one section has stairs but has a slope for access being disabled isn't a reason to not have a fab time here : staff are super friendly and accommodating to all the lgbtq+ ⁸

I have visited The New Union several times during the week And weekends day and night. As I drink Alcohol rarely, I'm always welcomed for a coffee and chat. David and Staff are very welcoming and pleasant as are the regulars, Always someone to chat with. Clean and tidy Outside and In, plus shelter in the beer garden for Smoker's. Good access for wheelchair users and plenty of comfortable seating. Excellent acts and Karaoke plus quiz nights.
Grate place first time in there on pride with my friend she lived it n said she felt so at home n free in there defo a must try
