Usually very good but a recent visit swayed our decision to go again as the fish was very overcooked and greasy which was a shame, the owner is a gentleman and is very good at his job unfortunately he wasn't the one who served us.

There was an event on at the Norbreck Castle but I arrived and ordered before a rush of people came in, I believe it was all a bit panicked and my order was forgotten about resulting in the overcooked fish, which my wife found a couple of bones.

All that being said we will go again because the owner is fantastic and the usual quality is fantastic! 🐟🥔

Great old fashioned fish and chips, my personal favourite is the battered sausage and curry sauce, lovely.

Called in by chance and found a diamond of a chippie, lovely staff, friendly and easy to talk to. I ordered cod and chips, they don't do cod but I was persuaded to try the haddock. It was gorgeous as were the chips, peas, fresh bread and a very good cup of tea. Prices very good and the place itself was very clean. Very enjoyable, there last week, going again this weekend.

This place is a winner. Gorgeous fish, white and beautifully battered, and large portions too. A friendly (family run?) cafe who look after their customers. Proper fish n chip cafes have been in decline for a number of years now and this cafe is a gem.
