My partner recently took two pairs of trousers to this establishment and asked for them to be dry cleaned. These trousers were a part of a suit. He was given a ticket and advised of the cost. The following week when he was supposed to collect these trousers, he was unable to do so, however he visited the following week and I accompanied him, it was a Saturday. The lady who served us was polite but became increasingly flustered as she searched frantically and could not locate my partners trousers. My partner and I were asked to return at a later date and his mobile number was taken with the promise that the Manager would call. We missed the call on the Sunday as we were in church but my partner checked in with the shop, only to be told that the Manager had said that he had already collected the trousers the week before on a Monday. My partner and I visited the store again the following week and once again met the lovely but flustered lady who apologised and told us that we had missed the Manager and recommended that we called her directly, she gave us the mobile telephone number for her. She reiterated that the manager had said that my partner had already collected the trousers. I called the Manager the following week for my partner and was horrified to be subjected to a barrage of accusation and abuse on the telephone. The manager told me categorically that my partner and I must not be telling the truth and that she knew without question that she had not made a mistake. The manager rudely spoke over me for minutes on end as she insisted that she had not made an error and when asked what her contingency plan was, she became evasive and refused to engage in the call any further stating, that she wanted to look at my partners face first because she refused to accept that she was in the wrong. The following Sunday, my partner and I visited the dry cleaners again after church and this time we deliberately remained silent for a moment. The Manager clearly had never seen me or my partner before and on being made aware by us, of who we were quickly recovered ground and began to speak to my partner as though he was familiar to her. We asked her if my partner was the man she had given the trousers to and she declared that in her opinion the man who collected the trousers looked just like him. This woman then spun a further story and added that my partner had collected the trousers but had for some reason come back into the store a second time she then added that his wife came in and that she had joked "what are you, his back up" I asked her and are you saying this man's wife was also black ( I am black you see) to which she replied, yes and she looked like you. Well I live in Manchester, not Sheffield I told her and I was definitely not in your shop and had never been in your shop before until we came to collect the trousers. We asked again about her position regarding insurance for these mistakes and she stated that she would take the hit herself, but needed to check the CCTV first which conveniently could only be viewed from her home. She then added that she would call my partner again in the week after she had done this. Today she has called my partner and claims that the CCTV was erased and that she was not mistaken about him. She also backtracked on her story and said that in fact his wife had not come in the shop with him and that he had come in alone . She continually put my partner in the position of a thief and liar and suggested that he was not being honest about the situation. She has told him that he wont be getting the amount the trousers are worth, in her words " that wont be happening" and has made an offer of £40. I have suggested to my partner that he keep his integrity and politely tells her to stick her £40 as he is neither desperate nor dishonest. To me, reputation is everything and I have no qualms ensuring that I give this establishment a big thumbs down whenever I have the opportunity to do so. I will not be recommending this place any time soon and if you have any sense you'll avoid it too

Clean, very helpful staff, and good service. The two reasons why thi doesn't get an excellent are that it's a bit tatty, and that there are ALWAYS 2 or 3 machines out of order.
