At 4 pm on a Friday just before Christmas, I was discovered a company cheque, which was due to expire in 2 days time. I have had an account at Nationwide in Stony for many years but haven't had need to go into the branch for ages. When I walked through the door less than 10 minutes before closing time, I half expected to find staff who looked tired and ready to go home. However, I was greeted, enthusiastically with a smile, and within a few minutes my cheque, which i presented had been dealt with. I then asked about a high interest account which i had seen advertised on the way in, and Molly the person who served me took time to explain the terms and conditions to me. I was so pleasantly surprised by my visit, and reminded just how important customer service is, when it is done really well! I would like to commend Molly, who served me for her, "nothing is too much trouble" attitude. Definitely an asset to Nationwide!

I have been into the branch a number of times recently and found there to be a long queue of customers waiting. The staff are always very helpful and apologise for the wait. It seems to me that what the branch needs is a bigger premises and more staff. It would also help if the opening hours could extend to 5:00pm during the week, and to be open all day on Saturday.
