Visited for a little while, given it’s free it’s a really good experience. We watched some Christmas baubles being made paid experience but they let us watch for free, and had a general wander around. I liked that it wasn’t all glass, but that there were displays of other art pieces too. The cafe and gift shop were very reasonably priced, as was the parking.
Unfortunately the glass shop was closed when we were there. It's only open couple of times a day and not every day. Without it, the whole museum was a bit underwhelming.
Super morning visit to the NGC. Cheap parking, free entry and demos of glass blowing, great cafe, shop and museum. Sue greeted in the foyer and was lovely to chat to. What's not to like.
Some fabulous exhibitions with somone on hand to explain processes if you're interested. Lovely little shop with some fab stuff yes I did.nCafe great homemade food. Cakes, scones, leaf tea. Definitely worth a visit. Then you can walk along the riverside. Don't miss this before they VERY SADLY re-locate it in 2026.
Excellent place to visit. My little boy Age 5 was asking how you curve glass so brought him to here & watched the demo on making a glass vase. He loved it and there was lots of other things for him to do here like jigsaws, drawing, playing with blocks. Great place for learning and having fun
