Nardini was an intentional stop over as it camenhighly recommended and known for it famous gigantic ice cream. Had a late lunch after a day well spent in Millport. We had the deal the tea time special deal. Which was a great choice as we had a taste of chips, fish, ice cream and tea and bread. Price range is affordable for what you get.
Great jacket potatoes with coleslaw for a late lunch. Big place and very busy. Overlooking the Clyde. Pianist playing discordant jazz. He might be better playing tunes folk recognise!nThis restaurant is a great example of art deco and has been a popular place since 1936 I think!
The ice cream was nice, the prices weren’t bad. The sundaes looked impressive. The low star rating is on behalf of my hubby who really wanted the cherry sundae but it came with 3 scoops of vanilla choc and cherry is surely the norm?! anyway, he asked the server if he could possibly swap 1 scoop for chocolate. The prices per scoop were the same but the server refused saying they weren’t allowed. Bit harsh I thought, server directed him to a create your own which would have worked out so much more expensive. Which now makes sense on the no swaps hubby opted for an orange, Jaffa like sundae instead but was met with a massive amount of strong orange jelly like syrup. He didn’t enjoy it. Just made it a bit disappointing as we’d specifically stopped there to go to Nardini’s.
I visited recently and the food was shocking and very greasy. The place was extremely cold and the management should have a hard look at themselves to see how the food and comfort could be improved. The 10per cent service charge which was added was ridiculous for the quality of the food and the freezing surrounding we had to eat it in.
A really friendly welcome and very efficient staff. We visited purely for ice cream sundaes, however we saw lots of food going out that also looked lovely. Ice cream sundaes were delicious. The only teeny tiny niggle was that our mango cheesecake was a bit warm, but it was still tasty.
