Seafront Fish & Chips - rude not to?nFish was perfectly cooked, batter crispy and crunchy, plus the lemon wedge added the extra zing that makes the difference.nChips were crisp outside and fluffy inside.nWe had a great Fish Haddock Supper, great Haggis Fritters & they even do a dog-sausage for a couple of quid.nThe best views out onto the Clyde & ferry terminal, to watch the world go by whilst enjoying the good food … carpark is a few strides away, for those days like today when you need to take shelter!
I am not a fan of fish and chips at all, far too often they’re greasy, flavourless, lack in all flavour of fish and chips.nnThe fish works however, absolutely brilliant ! A generous portion of haddock over a bed of beautiful chips - and the best thing: absolutely no grease left on the bottom at all. Served with a lovely house made tartar sauce and mushy peas, with lashings of salt and vinegar and a lemon wedge on top.nnServiced by 3 wonderful young members of polite, well mannered staff, and best of all - a smile.nnWe ate by the bay, a lovely environment, with even lovelier food.nnWorth mentioning, the pricing, a large fish supper, tartar sauce, mushy peas, 2 cans of sweet nectar Iron Bru, and another portion of chips - £21.20, fantastic value for money.nnI could not recommend The Fish Works highly enough, thank you to your wonderful, cheery staff!
Nice that they have gluten-free options. The battery on the fish was lovely and crispy. Unfortunately, the chips were disappointing, pale, and under cooked for me.
Really tasty fish - very crispy, good chips, curry sauce a little bit watery but overall really tasty!
Food quality is excellent. Value for money has went downhill. The chicken breast strips used to be decent sized pieces now they resemble chicken fingers. I’d rather pay more and keep a high standard of product than cutting the size of the portion.
