Came here one Monday evening with a friend. The restaurant had maybe half a dozen table with customer, so not a busy day. All the customers were seated in roughly the same section, so it was a little more atmospheric than sitting in an empty section. I appreciate this is casual dining, but the waiter was a little too casually dressed. If I'd been attending a football match, the waiter was what I'd expected to see. Then there was the sloppiness, the waiter failing to have pen and pad to take orders. Having to go back and forth a couple of times to fetch them. That's the one thing a waiter should have to do their job. I ordered a Broccoli, Tofu Stir Fried with Mushrooms in a vegetarian oyster sauce. My friend ordered a King Prawn with assorted mushrooms. Between us, a vegetable gyoza for starters. The sauce in the tofu stir fry really thick. So thick that I couldn't even mix it with my rice because it just look clumpy and made my rice look unappetising. Even worse, the sauce was sweet. That's not how I expect oyster sauce. and certainly not for a main. My friend like the prawns, but not the mushrooms. Basically ate the prawns and not the mushrooms. This is one place were it's better to do one style of food and do it well rather than a fusion restaurant and nothing is done well enough. The vegetable gyoza was the only reason I'm not giving Nam Tuk a terrible rating.
Initially went for the vegan Tom yum soup but ended up ordering the koroke and tofu teriyaki too at the end of the meal I was more than satisfied hoping to see more vegan options desserts
We came on the opening night and it got 4 stars because it was overpriced and the dishes were too small. This has now been rectified with a new menu. Really good food!
Nice food, hot, tasty and served very fast. Little confusion over the vegetarian options ask for this menu separate but staff are really nice friendly..will be coming back :
Gave Namtuk a try today and I'm certainly not disappointed from a warm welcome as we walked in to a few menu options to choose from I went for 2 for £7.50 and got noodles at a £1 extra charge so for £8.50 I am full, contented and will be back to try more of the menu. Louis the lad that served us was polite friendly and very helpful a excellent front of house member of staff Review 2: 14/11/18 Has new management in place no longer offers any lunchtime offers and the dishes I had were ok I never enjoyed it anywhere near as much as 1st visit now I'd struggle to rate it more than 3 stars...
Super cool decor, lovely staff, delicious food and in a great variety! Had a really great time, I would recommend 100%!
I would argue this is the best Asian fine-dining restaurant in Glasgow. Good food everytime! You should try the nasi goreng kampung and the Thai green curry!
Great place and good food. We got lucky for a spot cos it was crowded.. Do appreciate the local Thai beers on draft..
Service was excellent. Very accommodating, especially with my daughter's food intolerances. Food and portion size was very good, too. A little more expensive than we anticipated, but they were happy to give a doggy bag for the food we didn't eat so nothing got wasted. Will no doubt be back sometime without the car to sample the cocktails...
Food is really tasty, I can't fault that at all. However, the service is slow to the point where you have to remind them you are there and I had to physically go up to the waitress and ask for my drink... I really wish they would up the ante with service because the food is delicious. It's a shame really because they could be great if they just made the service better. I would go back but hopefully they can improve where it's needed.
