About

Music Da Capo is a family run music shop based in Newport IW. We are passionate about music on the island and encouraging everyone to play and learn. Learning an instrument is a great thing and everyone can learn.

Story

Music shop selling Instrument, Books and Gifts. We also offer workshops, groups and one to one lessons. All the staff have done musical examinations with boards including ABRSM, LCM, TRINITY, ROCK SCHOOL, VICTORIA COLLEGE and GUILD HALL.
We have a very good understanding of IOW concert bands, Music Centre and the Isle of Music and Drama Festival. We are MAIN DEALERS of MAPEX, VIC FIRTH, REMO, STAGG, PEAVEY, PAISTE and YAMAHA.

As nearly all of these reviews are written by either the owners or people who work there I’d take them with a pinch of salt. I guess the shop is OK if you need something quick, but if not, their prices are not very competitive and you might as well go on Gear For Music which they have a trade account with and save a few quid. I know it’s nice to support local businesses but you have to be sensible about it :
Brilliant shop, very friendly and helpful staff. Seeing as they stock NYXL strings at a cheaper price than online, they are now my go-to shop for guitar strings. They can also get a most if not all of the equipment I'll be buying in the future. The rehearsal space seems a little small when you look at it, but I had a 5-piece practice in there with pedalboards and had no trouble at all.
Havent even been by yet, but want to visit a local music store for some advice on keyboards. Photos looked fantastic, couldnt want to come by, but the saw they are only open THREE HOURS A WEEK? WHATS THE BLOODY POINT!!!
Best music shop on the island. Has a great selection of guitar strings at good prices. Staff are nice and I had my guitar set up here for a very good price.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the prices were reasonable, my only disappointment was the lack of variety in the sheet music, which is the norm apparently as many people download/print it off the internet these days. I am hoping to be back soon.
Very accommodating and friendly, the owner was very helpful when I asked lots of questions about strings and had no problem with letting me test out a few guitars.
Grate place friendly helpful staff and defiantly the best music shop on the island i got my 15th birthday present from this place it was a brunswick electro acoustic guitar love it
Lots of big names such as Vic firth, Mapex, Yamaha, Peavey, Rico, Paiste, Remo and Stagg. With a fab rehearsal room. Lots of lessons and workshops going on.
Great shop. Friendly staff, a place for all musicians, young and old. Always a welcoming smile.
Lovely little shop - very well stocked. Excellent customer service!
