Great family restaurant. It has a similar vibe to an American diner. The choice on the menu is impressive. The staff are really friendly & helpful. The quality & portion size of the food are excellent. There was a queue when we arrived, but this just went to show how popular this restaurant really is. The atmosphere is family-friendly, along with staff who engaged with you. Highly recommended.
We haven’t been to Murgatroyds for years and our latest visit did not disappoint. We had the two courses menu - the servings were massive, the fish was fresh and beautifully cooked, and the crumble was amazing!nnOur server was also really friendly and attentive to the point she remembered who ordered what which is rare in restaurants these days. We will be back!
nnI recently visited MURGATROYDS and had the fish and chips, and I have to say, it was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the chips were golden and flavorful. The portion size was generous, and everything tasted so fresh. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If you're looking for top-notch fish and chips, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Ania, an excellent lady who served me with a pleasant manner. Very proficient in her work. Food was a very good standard, but the plate was cold. I prefer a hot plate. Everything else was just lovely. Crockery exceptionally clean. On occasions with other restaurants the crockery has a feeling of grit. But no such thing with Mergatroid. Well done all staff in the kitchens, cleaners, waiter, waitresses.
What a hidden gem this place is, after a 2 hour drive on our motorbike in the rain we wasn't disappointed. From walking in through the door the staff were so helpful and tentative. A little wait for our food but it had been freshly cooked. You could taste the fish was very fresh. It is well worth a visit we will be returning for sure if I could have given Murgatroyds 10 stars for each category I would have donen
