I discovered it during an afternoon walk from Otley chevin to the airport . I stopped to sample the carvery, just a small plate for less than £6 but it was more than enough. The staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was laid back. It has a carpark, toilets , it's wheelchair accessible and there are bus stops nearby.
Food was ok. However, the unlimited tea and coffee was a joke, enough hot water for almost one cup, enough coffee for half a cup. Then the remaining stuff was cleared away, this was a good half hour before the end of that menu. Don't sell unlimited when there's barely enough for one drink.
Seven of us came for food on a Monday afternoon. We dined in, after some confusion of where to sit, from a confused member of staff and then a member of staff stood staring at us, who eventually asked us if we had reserved the table. We explained that, a member of staff seated us. Then we went to order our food, due to a menu change that was happening mid week we could not have our first choices. The carvery was very tasty, with a very helpful and friendly chef carving the meat. We all enjoyed our food. After our meals we decided to order desserts to take away. Even though all deserts were still on display, there were a few choices not available due to menu changes Overall a family friendly pub, tasty food, good atmosphere, clean toilets, great carvery. Odd staff, and shame about the lack of availability on the menu. Yes would try again but if we were to have availability issues again would not return
Lovely place to go for food with the kids! Mandy our waitress was lovey, friendly and polite we will be coming again.
Had an brilliant meal at Hawthorne farm. The staff are amazing even though they are so busy. The carvery looked fantastic and was delicious. Piping hot well cooked vegetables and so much choice. The chefs behind the carvery work tirelessly and always manage to chat and make you feel welcome. Will definately keep returning.
I had an amazing carvery. I loaded my plate with a bit of everything that was on the counter. There was a great selection to choose from. I had a slice of rich chocolate cake for dessert which literally filled the plate. Good food, generous portions and reasonably priced.
Stopped off for a few pints of Guinness before flying and I was well looked after. Firstly thanks to all three ladies who were working the afternoon of Tuesday 21/02/23 you were brilliant. Denise J watched my bags and laptop whilst I had a toilet break and really looked after me, booked me a taxi, and she’s really friendly and professional. Really refreshing to see experienced bar and serving staff in a place like this and there’s no accounting for experience and a proper friendly Yorkshire welcome with genuine care. Mandy gave me a loyalty discount voucher on a pint and Tilly was super friendly and juggling the busy restaurant and bar. My advice; get to the airport early and come relax here, you’ll be very well looked after. From an experienced restaurant and bar owner!!
Handy for pre airport meal. Reasonably priced. Very slow service 30+min was not busy wait for food unless you are having carvery. Last two visits the other members of the party had nearly finished their carvery before my fish and chips arrived at the table having inquired twice. Probably won't bother again unless having carvery. Parking: Big car park
This is not first time I have visited. I was hoping this time we can try some of these amazing cakes, unfortunately the display is fake cakes which most is not available anyway, so a big disappointment for kids. Food is OK. Roast we choose gammon, because beef was a bit too well done. Staff don't really know what to do, we had dirty plates for about 40 min until we brought the icecream and coffee to the table and asked young girl to clean our table so we have space for puddings.
Lovely, cosy, welcoming place. Staff were helpful and polite. Food and meats were excellent on the carvery, however the cauliflower cheese was a hard as rock 8: Overall we had a great time and will def. be returning quite soon.
