Cheap and cheerful! Standard of service and food was great. The portion sizes are generous and affordable. I really enjoyed my haggis with mash and gravy. I thought the bangers were a bit soft in texture but maybe that’s just my preference. It was great that you can choose different flavours of sausages and mash and gravy too. The dessert was also quite good We had a short wait of 15mins on a Saturday night during Fringe. The line moved quickly and there weren’t too many parties waiting.
I really had a great experience here! We tried the chicken pie and a beans&sausage casserole and both of them were amazing! I ordered the medium pie you can choose from medium and large but i still found it very fulfilling. I liked the place because it has the style of an old diner. We were given a table next to the kitchen where some of the waitresses were cleaning forks and knives so it was very noisy, but when we asked to be moved to a quieter table the waitress was super friendly and managed to give us a nicer spot! I'll definitely go back again!
Scottish food at its best! Had an interesting and eye-opening mushroom Wellington with tasty layered pastry, as well as Haggis and Date Pudding! Main courses cost around 10-13 pounds. Only downside was the difficulty of getting a table I encourage to make a reservation and the slightly slow service. The sous/dessert chef was a very friendly chap!
Overall a great place, service was fast and friendly and the interior is super nice. The food was ok, good but nothing special or interesting. What’s great is that you can choose your own sausage and mash and gravy types! That was really nice :
The customer service here is honestly the best I have ever received. My mum and I entered through the kitchen door by mistake and everyone immediately welcomed us in and sat us down. I was going to order a haggis main and a casserole but was recommended to have a haggis starter instead which was absolutely right because the portion was incredibly generous especially considering the affordable price. My mum and I are Chinese and we were offered the option to have hot water to suit our preference and custom which was so considerate. The food was amazing, too. Definitely 10/10 would recommend <3
Definitely a great spot. We stopped in for breakfast. The prices were good for a full breakfast and an eggs benny. Decor is fun and funky, and I'd say the same about the staff. The coffee was alright, and the food was great.
This is the biggest meal I have ever eaten in the UK. The meringue is very soft and the soup inside is very tasty. At the same time, the owner is a very enthusiastic young man. He will tell us some stories about Edinburgh and buy one pancake. The bananas on the pancake are delicious, too.
DELICIOUS food!!!! Amazing servers!!! I have never been serviced as awesomely as I was at this location, no restaurant in the England is as friendly and helpful! I ordered the banana pancakes, and...they...were....FANTASTIC!!!!! the sweetness of the bananas penetrated the pancake and added to the flavour profile. Eggs were tasty, my wife had the classic breakfast and enjoyed everything but the tomato. My parents had some pancakes with bacon, and they devoured every bite. Just come here and get the banana pancakes, I believe they told me that the batter is made fresh daily. Toilets are downstairs and clean. Ambieance of the restaurant is old American diner. Seriously come here!!!!
Booked for 4 people on Friday evening during October Food was tasty as always and staff are lovely and give good banter. Had a mix of sausages and mash followed by the brioche marmalade bread and butter pudding. Also had mint aero milkshakes. Nice atmosphere, great tunes but might be a little loud for some people. Will definitely return.
An amazing experience in Edinburgh. We tried all the starters and everything was amazing!! The camembert was definitely the best! Highly recommended! Even the bread is good at this place!!! And Sarah is also the sweetest! Thanks so much for everything!
