We love it and go every year. The staff are wonderful, the location is stunning. Golf club is 5 mins away, mountain biking is insane. Station inn is friendly, food lush - get me back!!!
Booked 2 nights, had a voucher complete mess, the voucher was for £99.99 only would take £60, paid £180 left after 1 night, awful, so hot, noisy rd, dogs couldn't settle and really small This was the personal response we got Evening John/Tracey, Many thanks for taking the time to leave your damning 1 start review of our accommodation. "Booked 2 nights, had a voucher complete mess, the voucher was for £99.99 only would take £60, paid £180 left after 1 night, awful, so hot, noisy rd, dogs couldn't settle and really small" The voucher is for a 2 night camping pod stay which we would have accepted with no additional charge, but we kindly let you upgrade to a mega pod we're not obliged to do so and the value of the voucher for such an upgrade is £60.00, as you were made aware. I'm now not quite sure why this has been made an issue of? Awful. Really hot. Noisy Rd I assume Rd is road. Dogs couldn't settle. Really small. All comments of a couple who aren't willing to be constructive, just damning of a family run business! Here's a few examples of where your comments would be better placed... Awful- The current conflict between Russia and the Ukraine Really hot- The Lut desert Noisy Rd- The M1 in rush hour Really small- Quarks and Electrons Dogs couldn't settle- I'm yet to read their version of events, but very much hope to do so, maybe they're more constructive with their feedback. Yes, it was a mess for us to resolve the issue with your voucher and we did so gracefully. You requested a price for an upgrade, we gave you said price and you accepted you weren't forced. The "very small" accommodation is clear to see on our website with multiple images and relevant wording link provided below for reference Shropshire Camping Pods Mountain Edge Resort The B road on which we are situated does have a number of vehicles using it, but unfortunately that's the nature of a road! Noisy, no, but it's not silent either. We can accept constructive feedback and varying opinions of what people like and dislike, but damning, mindless 1 star reviews aren't nice for anyone, hence the tone of our reply. Hopefully you can find your dream stay in which your dogs can rest at ease and not in the scorching discomfort of one of our Mega Pods. My husband served 18 years in the household cavalry, so saw action in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan He has also been in the Sahara and the evenings are below 0! We would not have booked near the M1 but the road was busy with trucks Our dogs settled at center parks, but they are yet to leave a review so you won't know! Customer Service is not a strong point, obviously how you can compare our stay to the conflict in the Ukraine is ridiculous! To be called "mindless" in a personal email is absolutely disgraceful! We were expressing an opinion and got an absolutely slating and unprofessional response. Buy a gift have refunded the £39.99 you wrongfully took on our voucher Regards Tracey Clee Kind Regards Mountain Edge Team
We’d booked a 3 night stay for my partners birthday, we’d booked a 2 night stay a few years ago and loved every moment so despite the price we decided to go again. Let’s just say if I knew I’d be woken up at 8:30am to the sound of machinery in the lodge being renovated I’d of booked somewhere else. I was never told upon booking or checking in that work would be done, feel like this definitely should be mentioned. I appreciate things need to be upgraded however you spend a lot of money to come and relax, not sit in the hot tub 10ft away from a bunch of men chatting away working. I tried to call and get some advice on how long the work would be going on for and I was passed around with no actual answer to my question. Just kept being told managing the lodges/mega pods are not my job. The lodges themselves are lovely definitely due the upgrade. Partner had an issue with his steak in the Station Inn pub on site, however mistakes happen and we enjoyed the rest of our meal. The main thing that has annoyed us so much is the work being completed so close to us, we will not be returning in the future unless faith can be restored.
We was stayed in pod 5 and was placed up high and slightly back into the wood and the sounds of the birds singing everywhere was pure bliss... Lovely place to unwind, relax and escape the hustle of life and work...
Hot tub was the perfect temp, mega pod was so cosy, clean and comfortable, surrounded by beautiful scenery and really good pub food just down the end of the road. Staff were friendly from the minute we arrived and even let us have a cheeky late night take out burger. Will be returning again for sure!
An amazing little get away. Staff are so nice and the pods where beautifully clean. The meals in the station inn where fantastic and again staff where do lovely. I would recommend for a country get away will definitely book again in the future
Indulgence in nostalgia. I warm welcoming atmosphere . Generous portions, all you need is to enjoy this delightful rural Pub and Restaurant.
Just had a 2 night stay in the lodge. Overall we had a lovely stay but there were a few slight bit of damages that needed a bit of care and attention. The shower door was slightly broken and the toilet flush button was broken. The front door also wouldn't open fully as it was catching on the door. The lodge was mostly clean however the fridge needed a bit more attention as there was a few hairs in there. Since our last stay we also found you had to pay to use the gas fire or stove. We didn't need to use any of the gas however so this didn't bother us too much but this would likely upset some. There is no warning of this on the website There was a central heating installed which kept the lodge lovely and warm and you didn't need to pay for that thankfully. The hot tub was kept to a constant tempriture of 38 degrees which you can't change. That was absolutely lovely and just right for us. A lot of space for 2 people! Unfortunately we would have liked to spend more time in the tub but the good old British weather ment we had to go indoors. It would be nice if there was a shelter, removable gazebo maybe. I did prefer when the hot tubs were wood fired however they are electrically powered now.
This is a really difficult review to write. Lets start with the Station Inn. Fantastic staff, couldn't fault one of them. Food was delicious. Stopped in a "luxury lodge" for two nights. The lodge itself was very clean. I have given it four stars as I would say the lodge wasn't luxury. Really needed a nice comfy sofa in the lounge rather than the tired two seated one that was there. The shower was another thing that was disappointing. The water just dribbled out. I also didnt realise that dogs were allowed in lodges. This was a disappointment for me due to allergies. I would stay again but only if it was half the price I paid. I would definitely travel to the Station Inn for food
Wonderful, relaxing escape. We really enjoyed our stay in the log cabins. The staff were really helpful, the cabins were beautiful and the food at The Station was exquisite. We will be booking again.
