A very good place to shop , which has been re arranged recently ,u can buy live plants and flower bouquets here apart from all the groceries and wine and beer and scotch , Non vegetarian items like various varieties of fresh fishes, chicken, pork, beef, mutton etc are available along with the frozen varieties , you can even get baked items , The staff is very co-operative. Overall a very good place for shopping .. you can also use the photo booth for a quick pic just after the checkout
Food section is huge. Nice bakery items available. Good collection of frozen items. Ample parking space. Just outside, there is a morrisons fuel station which is a plus!
I used to shop here often and will not be anymore. Lady at the front was so rude and never had such a worse experience before. If you can’t serve to all the customers then display a board outside saying this particular raise will not be served. Management should better train their staffs.
Normal range of food and other products but like many stores they’ve really reduced the number of people working at the checkout. Today there were two ladies working, with each one having queues of three to four customers with big trolley loads. Hopefully Morrisons will see the reduction in business and start to re staff the check outs.
Helpful staff, a nice meat counter although it closes at 7pm, and the staffed checkouts stay open until a reasonable time SEE UPDATE BELOW!. Has recently become my go-to supermarket instead of my previous Asda for these reasons. BUT they have just last day I think installed the mental hinged glass doors on the front of almost all the chilled cabinets. Presumably some "green" nonsense, just like the ones now in Asda. Not too busy today but when Christmas shopping kicks off it will be madness with the doors swinging open and trolleys fighting to get past. Can't wait. The main problem is the doors are very reflective so it's impossible to see what is further down each aisle without having to go and peer directly through the doors. So I'll be off to Sainsbury's or Tesco more now I think. UPDATE 28/11/23 ... For anyone who, like me, likes to have the CHOICE to use a staffed checkout ... A few weeks ago they were keeping them open until about 9pm. But this evening at 7:45pm I was asked to shut the "checkout closed" gate behind me at the only staffed checkout. I asked the staff member what is the normal time for that to happen and she told me that it's normally at about 8pm now "depending on what staff they have". So, I'll bear that in mind now when considering which supermarket to visit in the evenings. Probably Tesco checkouts currently until close to 10pm, or Sainsbury's until just before 8:30. Update 29th December. I usually only buy a basket full of items here, but yesterday I treated myself to a trolley, requiring unlocking with a £1 coin. So far so good. However when it came to returning said trolley, it turned out that none of the trolley return places in the carpark had the necessary chain, so everyone has to make the possibly long walk back to the store entrance. Not a problem for me, but considering how the Morrisons customers seem to be older than average, not ideal for customers with reduced mobility. For example this poor elderly lady was hoping to drop off her trolley but then had to push it all the way across the carpark instead.
Pleasantly surprised. First visit to the Basingstoke store. Well laid out, cold storage in refrigerators with doors. Alas none of their delicious Scottish pies, Meat and Potatoe went Down well with the guys. Hubby likes the Nutmeg clothes. Definitely a return trip when in Basingstoke.
This has fallen off my list of shopping places, on entering i get the smell of deep fat frying, the shelves are laid out oddly so i feel I miss the things I need, plus I have to scan everything at the tills as they don’t have hand held scanners, which makes shopping so much longer. It’s a shame as the meat/fish and bread always was good.
Reasonable prices, always have stock of everything I need, tend to use the self service and the guys on there are always great. The only thing which I find isn't 100% is that the fruit doesn't always seem super fresh but I've never had anything awful from there!
Morrisons Brew Coffee shop!! What a fantastic customer service I’ve just received from the two ladies serving Drinks! At the Entrance… to Morrisons Basingstoke! Great customer service!! Thank you!
The african security guy is very rude.He told me off in front of everybody because I made some mess by accident.I did say sorry straight away and the manager told me not to worry about it and told him to leave me alone but he didnt want to go away.He was laughing at me later when I was leaving the store.Just not the nice experience and very bad customer service. But the rest of the staff is always very helpfull and friendly :
