We stayed for 2 nights recently. Due to ill health the stairs were very difficult for me. We spoke to the receptionist who was so helpful and she transferred us to a room on the lower level which was absolutely fabulous. All the staff couldn't have been more helpful and we think they went over and above to help us out. The breakfast was really good and we had a lovely lady to serve us. We would definately return to this hotel on our return to London.
Stayed in a petite double room for two nights. This property was very luxurious for such a reasonable price. It’s in such a lovely part of London. There’s a lovely market on Sundays just outside. It’s only a short train journey into the city centre. Breakfast was included in the price and it was spectacular. Great amenities, the shower was amazing. The dressing gowns, slippers, and free waters were great touches. 10/10, I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
The staff was outstanding! Very friendly upon arrival and during our entire stay. Any request we had was answered and they performed above expectations. The rooms were very nice, with great amenities and very uniquely decorated. The pub had great food and we spent a night with friends there for dinner and beers. Loved the location away from crowded Central London, and it was a short train ride to any of the main attractions. Would recommend to any seasoned traveller looking for an authentic experience. Some street noise during the day but very quiet at night. Rooms: Loved the updates to the rooms. Felt very well maintained and upscale. The bed was comfortable and we slept well in very dark rooms. Walkability: Easy enough to get to and from on public transportation with very little trouble. Food & drinks: Pub food was done very well. Breakfast did not disappoint. Great prices for exceptional fare.
This was an incredible hotel to stay at! Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and helpful, the room was quaint but had a unique vibe to it which was really cool, and hands down the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. To top it off, having the pub downstairs gives the entire place a really good atmosphere! Close walk to the tram station which is only a short ride away from Victoria station aka the gateway into all of central London. If we're ever in London again this will 100% be the place we stay at!
Recently stayed overnight at the Half Moon, for a show at nearby Brixton Electric. I was impressed with this pub/hotel. It offers a little bit of luxury for a reasonable amount of coin. The room was warm and extremely comfortable with an en-suite shower. There were even robes and slippers supplied which I only expect for a higher room rate, which was excellent. The bar was busy on Sunday when I arrived but I still got served no problem. Breakfast prior to check out the following day was exquisite. Staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again when opportunity arises.
Just popped in for a quick pint. Lady behind the bar was lovely and the Guinness and London Pride were excellent. Big pub with loads of space- also has a restaurant to the side which seems to be shared with the people staying in the rooms available, but looks quite nice. Just a quick note: it looks like every table in the pub has a couple of three pin plug sockets as well as a USB charging point.
We stayed at this amazing hotel twice recently while a relative was being treated at King’s College Hospital. We had to cancel and rebook during our stays due to the hospital cancelling the procedure and rescheduling. The hotel, and most particularly Ann-Marie the manager, were absolutely wonderful with making us welcome, helping us to cope with the changes and challenges that we were dealing with and making our stay the easiest part of our time there. The rooms are very individual, quirky and unique. The beds are super comfortable, especially the pillows. The comforts provided in the form of tea, coffee and chocolates were a welcome addition, as were the lovely bathrobes and slippers. I cannot praise the breakfast enough, delicious and perfectly cooked to order and big enough to take us well into the afternoon. Our warmest thanks and gratitude to a really terrific team at a glorious historic hotel/pub.
We had an overnight stay here. The location was easy to find 4 stops from Farringdon Station / Sutton Train Friendly staff and the bedroom was lovely. It's over a popular pub which serves a selection of spirits and fresh food. Our accommodation also included a complimentary breakfast which was delicious.Rooms: 5/5
We came here for an overnight visit with our 4 year old. Everything from the food and service was exemplary. The staff first and foremost were so friendly and let us check in earlier than planned on a cold day. They don't usually do room service but let us take our food upstairs from the restaurant so we can eat it in our room. As any parent knows, having to eat dinner and do bed and bath is quite the juggle so they were extremely accommodating. We weren't planning on having lunch and dinner there but we did only for the fact the food was so good! We stayed in the Armstrong room which was like staying in the top floor of a boutique hotel - such great value for the location right opposite brockwell park. I would also recommend Llewellyns restaurant nearby if I came again. But all in all, such a comfortable stay and not as noisy as expected considering we were above a pub!
I liked this place as I walked in the corner entrance. The decor appealed, and the London Pride was excellent. I liked the charging points that were available, both 3-pin sockets and USB as well. I tried two other pubs nearby and regretted moving on.
