There seems to be an excessive amount of cafe in Edinburgh and not many of them deliverer real quality coffee. Modern Standard Coffee is surely one of the finest I have visited in the city. No mediocre commercial coffee, and they’ve got a own brand of beans Latin American / African beans for sale. A two-storey cafe with a simple and cosy environment.
I had an amazing time in Modern Standard over the last two days of my trip in Edinburgh. The coffees were amazing the whole experience was made even more memorable by the talented baristas working behind the bar. Looking forward to my next visit!
Such a great cafe with delicious coffee. Interior has lots of space for seating and is clean and simple design. Very pleasing and lovely to sit down for a cup of coffee. Definitely recommend checking out!!
This is hands down my favourite coffee shop in Edinburgh, and I spend half my life in coffee shops! Amazingly friendly people work there, it is loudly pro LGBT+, and they have a great coffee bag return incentive. I am really nervous around dogs though, and there is always a dog there without fail because it's so dog friendly. I know this is a plus for most people, so I just wanted to flag this for anyone else like me.
Love this place. The coffee here is my favourite. The staff are lovely and always smiling. They also welcomed my dog with open arms, that means a lot to me. I haven't had time yet to sit in i'll look forward to that one day but a treat of coffee every now and again to take out starts my morning the right way. Thank you.

Great coffee and lots of seating upstairs! Would recommend to any coffee lovers
Severely disappointed with the order I placed online. The coffee was too fine for my espresso machine, even though I selected the option for "espresso" online. I contacted the company with my order reference as it may have just been a poor batch but no reply in over 4 weeks. Quite sad, as I was looking for a UK based coffee company.
